I only use this thermometer once a year and that's Christmas time when I make my usual big batch of Christmas candies to hand out as gifts. I do everything from peanut clusters to the dreaded milk caramels and peanut brittle, so I'm in the kitchen for several days standing in front of the stove. Having a good, accurate thermometer is key to the caramels and brittle, one mistake and the entire batch is ruined.I ran into some issues a few years ago that I could never resolve and I actually gave up my candy making for a couple of seasons. A lot of people were upset, even going out of their way to gift me with a good heavy bottom pot and a NuWave hot plate. I gave them both a try, using an older thermometer and my candy came out completely wrong. After testing my old one, I discovered the issue the entire time was my thermometer, so I got this one to replace it and I've never looked back.Very accurate, my candy making has resumed and I have happy people again. I was taken back a little with the length of the probe, this isn't a problem considering the huge pan they gifted me to replace my other one, it fits perfectly inside it and I can clip it on the side with no problem. Should this one ever stop working, I'll be replacing it with another one, I love it.

Pay attention to the size. It's hard to find a pot deep enough for it.

Solidly built, except for the little red dial marker that fell off the very first time I moved it. Temperature reading was about 20 degrees lower than it should've been for boiling water. Followed calibration instructions provided online (none provided on packaging 😕) and now it seems to be working okay.

Nice thermometer. . I wish I had ordered the shorter one. Seems accurate compared with other thermometers

Not good. Not accurate at all!! Tried making fudge. Temp showing less than 230°F and then scortched and burnt sugar. Made caramel temp showed 250°F. Caramel flashes at 330°F. After the 3rd thing I burned the sugar on I threw it in the trash.

El termómetro es bueno por el hecho de tener los numerales grandes...Sol dos detalles k no me gustaron..Se despegó la cinta roja de la flecha y se kedo pegada al vidrio.. jajajaY la otra k... No se si fue el calor k fue desgastando ala punta k se introduce..Pero se le hizo un pequeño ollito..Y pues le entró aceite por ahÃ.. y se descompuso... Jajaja..Pero por lo menos me duró 1 año..
