I have always been horrible at opening wine bottles with the bottle shooting out from under or the cork coming out in pieces. But once I got this it made it so unbelievably easy to open and wows everyone who sees it! So per usual I purchased one for my parents as a Christmas present! They will be so thrilled with how easily this works!

So I had ordered this on my account and have had mine for years, has not stopped working! I ordered this one for my brother (this account is my boyfriends) a year or two back because he loved mine so much. Broke in less than a year. I noticed that mine is bronze/copper colored, on the box and the opener itself. His was this silver color. I don't think the quality is the same, the plate on his box came off within a couple months and the overall product seems cheap. Do not recommend! I'm going to try to find one similar to mine elsewhere since I really don't want to waste money on something that won't last. The pictures I'm putting are of mine. He ended up throwing his away after it broke.

I absolutely love this wine opener. Not sure how I've missed out on this type of opener but I'll never use another kind. It's very sturdy and packaging is the best. I keep mine stored in the box it was sent in. This a prefect gift for a wine lover. After opening and using mine I immediately started thinking of who i could gift one to. You won't regret this purchase!!!

I've purchased and/or used a variety of different types of wine openers that ranged in price from a couple of bucks to $150. In my experience, the ones at the upper end of that price range are seldom nice enough to warrant the exorbitant cost. While this OBALY wine opener is nowhere near as expensive as some others I've used, it's *very* nice, especially compared to sub-$20 options out there.The first thing I noticed about this OBALY wine opened was the outstanding packaging. You know those books that people hollow out so they can stash their valuables in them? This wine opener's packaging reminds me of those, but the book and the "pages" are made of cardstock, and instead of the inside being an open cavity, the hole has been cut in the shape of the opener so that it fits snugly into the book, which also a thick elastic band attached to keep the book closed. I'm not sure if this packaging was meant to be kept or discarded, but I've opted to keep the opener in its "book" packaging and have it stored with my cookbooks on a shelf in my pantry.Aside from the packaging, the opener itself is very nice. The operation is very smooth and requires very little effort. Our 10-year-old was with me when I received the opener and was absolutely fascinated; he insisted on being the one to open my bottle of wine that evening, which I let him do (under my supervision, of course). Even though he had never used this type of wine opener before (or any type of wine opener to my knowledge), he was able to quickly figure out how it worked with only minimal verbal coaching on my part. Needless to say, it's a very easy wine opener to use.I was unsure of the rose gold color, but it's actually much nicer in person than in photos. Granted, I think I still would've preferred something a bit more neutral, but I don't mind the color like I assumed I would.Overall, I'm really pleased with this wine opener. I expect that it'll last quite a long time, especially with how infrequently I'll need to use it. If you're in the market for a new wine opener and are wanting something that's well-built, easy to use, but won't break the bank, then buy this OBALY wine opener with confidence.

My wife has arthritis and has difficulty with certain wine openers. This opener is very easy to use and is much faster than the electric one we have. I took off one star because it doesn't come with a foil cutter, nor does it indicate you need to use one. I asked two reviewers if it came with a foil cutter but they never answered my question. I tried removing a cork without cutting the foil and it didn't work. Foil cutter aside, I really like this opener.

I love the easy use, but doesn't pull the cork out after 20 uses.

We have another opener similar to this (Sharper Image I think, similar price too) and this type of opener seems easier to use than a Rabbit style one where you have to grip the two sections around the wine bottle top and then push down.This one:**** You position over the top of the bottle**** Grip.**** Push down**** Then pull up. Voila. Cork out.**** Pull up again, it releases the cork.When I first got it, it was a bit stiffer than my prior one and I prematurely stopped when pushing it down two times while trying to open a wine bottle. Pulling up meant I pulled out half the cork. It was salvageable.However subsequent times I paid attention a bit better and made sure it bottomed out. This time it was fine. I think it was “operator†error as I was used to the other one.I have some minor hand arthritis and this type of opener is the best. No twisting, no pulling rabbit ears together. No aching.It comes in a neat box made out of corrugated cardboard in layers and the shape of this opener is cut out into it. Like a person cutting out a spot in a book to hide something.The other device, the vacuum cap, I think is useless. But, we often finish a bottle at a sitting, a meal or sitting outside with friends. Mind you, all the other vacuum caps I thought were useless and we’ve had two others. I have a bias, so ignore me on this.
