I’ve always struggled a little with an uncomfortable chin rest on my violin, but just put up with it. When I decided to pick up the viola, however, I realized putting up with it wasn’t going to be an option. I kept feeling like the metal hardware was driving into my neck and collarbone. The over the tailpiece style also seemed too tall. I like Wittner tailpieces and pegs, so decided to give this chin rest a try. It is perfect! No more digging in and it feels so much more comfortable. Also it’s so easy to install. Comes with a tiny phillips head screwdriver instead of having to use the traditional metal clamps. I already decided to order one for my violin as well. No more settling for uncomfortable chin rests for me!

This product was exactly what I was looking for and I recommend it to any student who finds their chinrest uncomfortable. The more centered but still to the side mount of this rest is much more ergonomic and will help you feel more secure,improving your playing posture overall. It is a tiny bit tricky to install but it includes everything you need and ultimately only takes 5 minutes.i just bought this for my viola after using it on my violin for close to 12 years. Excellent product.

I have the Wittner chinrest on both of my violins. They are easy to attach and don't move once attached. Reasonable, comfortable, and have never had had trouble with them.

I have almost all my students purchase these chinrests. They are more comfortable and help them hold their violins correctly. I like that they are all plastic and hypoallergenic. The only problem is that they don't fit with all tailpieces. I have a centermount on my violin and I love it. I would recommend these to anyone.

Got confused with the box package. I thought it was a violin chinrest with a viola chinrest barcode label to cover the violin package box when I received the package. But the seller patiently explained to me that the manufacturer reused the same package box for 4/4 violin + viola chinrest. It does nicely fit to my 16" viola and I found it very comfortable. Thank you for your explanations and concerns into this matter.

Actually I don't know whether or not I like it because I can't figure out how to attach it to my Viola. There are NO instructions . . . only a picture that shows some kind of tool but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. AND, I'm a widow . . .no husband . . . no tools (except a couple of screw drivers and a hammer. I have tried contacting the seller, but NO response as yet. If I don't hear from the seller soon I guess I'll have to return it. Too bad because I liked the idea.

After testing over more than probably 100 students ranging from Elementary to High school with the violin version of this product, the majority found it much more comfortable.I'm a string consultant professional in Brevard County Florida, I use one myself after playing for 20 years I found it as an easy transition and a definite upgrade.
