This so comfortable! The one downside that was easily corrected, is that I found the adjuster to have a small vibration. I placed a piece of moleskin under it and that eliminated it the problem. This is the best shoulder rest I have owned.

Recommend Wolf brand when it comes to chin rests. They tend to hold up much longer than the cheaper plastic versions. Good quality.

I'm a pro, playing viola in the Opera House Orchestra. Most of my life I'm using Wolf shoulder rests and this is my newest one-of course-again a great product as the Wolf should be and always is. Highest recommendations.

I was always a HUGE fan of the wolf forte primo rest on violin. In fact, I just went and tried out my violin with a wolf forte primo rest and I still think it's great for the instrument. But somehow the viola version of this rest is TERRIBLY uncomfortable. It really affected how well I could play my 16.5" instrument. The part that touches the shoulder doesn't extend far enough up, and the long adjustable bar is prone to slipping off the edge of my instrument. And, as a previous reviewer noted, the slightest pressure does make it contort, resulting in either falling off the instrument or in the pad twisting to an uncomfortable angle.I ended up getting a Mach One rest instead and just added some of the Kun rest extra-long feet on it, resulting in a rest that's just as high as the forte primo but muuuuch more comfortable to play on.As with all things violin/viola, your mileage may vary. What's comfortable for me will be unbearable for another person. But just a fair bit of warning for anyone switching between instruments: just because it works on violin doesn't mean it'll work on the viola. An obvious point, maybe, but one that bears repeating.

I purchased it as I thought it would help because I have a long neck. Even with a high chinrest it still wasn not what I was hoping for. However, its legs are adjustable for height, the quality is good, it fit my 15' fine. I dont use it only because it was not a good set up for my needs.
