This is a stand for a wok to support it over heat. It's most effective over a gas flame. I have electric, so (meh). But the ring itself is great and does its job well.

It's a wok ring! We got it for a round bottomed wok we got for camping. Works as it should. It's pretty light weight. But, that's not a bad thing. I hope it holds up over time. It's a very basic tool.

Make sure you measure your burners. It does not fit when I take off the burner grate. I use it on top of the grate and it works fine. I couldn't find a smaller one anywhere so will stick with this.

It was a balanced and a perfect fit for a 14†wok. It does have venting holes, so this was a personal choice. I’m sure it would work very well, but I opted for a cast iron 5 point base for my range. It would probably be more energy efficient to hold in the heat than an open version.

I bought a chef wok for stir fry which is very round and my stove top rack is plat. Wok keep on falling over quite dangerous so I have to look for a wok friendly rack. This one is just OK but more practical than other style. It's round so it can only sit on top of my original stove rack. It's too light weight and will shift around so you really still need to hold and manage your wok during cooking. But I am keeping it cause I Cant find anything else. Price is always great. I guess I just have to look for one from China and ship it here for permanent solution.

My wok has a handle and can stand on its own over my electric flat glass cook-top. The problem I had was that the wok had a small contact area with the burner and the oil I was using to fry would not get hot enough. This ring allows for a better focusing of heat while making the wok sturdier as well. It may not be needed for every use of the wok, but it is essential for frying. It is almost a necessity on an electric stove, but may not be so on a gas burner.
