These bars come as unfinished raw wood, which is excellent. I don't need to pay extra for fancy painting or staining. They come with a small container of mink oil, which you should apply right away. Usually, with wooden products like this, I will coat them with mineral oil, let the oil set in, then coat them with mink oil, or another waxy type oil, or even wax. This protects it from moisture (warping, mold), and accidental water damage. It comes with eight pre-cut rubber sticky pads to place on the bottom for non-slip protection (just be sure that you either don't oil that spot before applying them, or let the oil in the wood set for a day or two before applying). I don't like that the grips are so wide. They could be half the width they are and be perfect (without measuring, the width is such that there's a gap of one inch from my fingertips to my thumb when gripping - so my hand isn't really around the grip so much as on top of it). This also comes with grip tap for the grips. I wasn't going to use the tape, but went ahead and applied it. It's ok. Doesn't look like it's going to stay on very well - solution, for me, is to apply electrical tape around both ends of the grip tape. The bars are fit into the sides in a mortise type joint. There is a screw (see the hole at the bottom of the side stands), that goes into the bar, for more stability. So I'd say it's pretty well made, though simple, and does the job - effective. Great buy!

Based on the listing price, I did not expected a great quality Parallettes. At the time of purchase, they were 30-40% than other listings. I exercise at home & thought this could be a great tool to use to improve my balance and coordination. I used for about a week and they are sturdy and seem to hold up a 200+ LB men very well.

The product works well and as described. It might need more tape to secure the end of the rubber grip when applied, but otherwise it goes on easily.

I ordered these Trlakepreble Wooden Parallettes to help with my never ending planche quest. They are solid with a maximum weight capacity of 440 lbs. There is no play or uncertainty when I use them. It comes with grip wraps, a scrap piece of cloth, and some kind of oil or petroleum based gel in a small container. The instructions and listing have no mention of what it is and what you are supposed to do with it. I was puzzled. Other people think it's some type of adhesive for the grip tape, but it's slippery, so I didn't think so. Someone else mentioned that it's some kind of oil to seal the untreated Pine wood. That makes more sense to me. I rubbed it on the wood surface after I wrapped the handles and also applied the rubber non-slip pads on the bottom. By the way, the non-slip pads work great on my tile floor. It would move around when I tried using them before putting on the pads. As far as the grip wraps, there is only a little bit of adhesive on the end piece to help you start off the wrap. At the end they supply a thin rubberized piece of tape to secure the end piece. I think I will wrap both ends with electrical tape to secure it better. Back to the parallettes. They also work great for push-ups and handstands. There's lots of clearance for my knuckles and fingers under the grip bars. No worries about scraping the floor. Be advised that the grips are on the wider side and get even wider with the grip wrap applied. These are not for people with small hands. I am very happy with these!Approximate Dimensions:Overall Length: 10 inches.Grip Bar Length: 7-3/4 inches.Grip Diameter: 1-5/8 inches.Base Width: 5-1/8 inches.Base Wood Thickness: 1-1/16 inches.Under Grip Clearance: 1-5/8 inches.

You have to put the grip on yourself with the glue they provide.

I gave up doing push ups years ago due to getting older and pain in my wrists. I have found that using these makes daily push ups a whole lot easier on the wrists. These handles are nice and large, with a wide diameter grip. The unfinished wood is nice, as it isn't slippery like other plastic handles out there. I'm happy with this.

- No fuss with unfinished raw wood.- low to the ground- Use mink, was, or glycerin to seal the wood and keep them looking good. This also protects it from moisture (warping, mold), and accidental water damage. It comes with a small amount.- Comes with pre-cut rubber sticky pads to place on the bottom for non-slip protection. Apply these BEFORE the oil.- Comes with grip tab for the floor side. I have had no issues with them slipping or moving on me.- Effective- I have had wrist surgery 2 years ago and gave up on push ups. These have allowed me to start doing them again.- Fair price for a sturdy solid wood item.Cons- I would say the grip tape doesn't stay super well, but that is an easy fix with electrical tape or bike bar tape.
