We had brand new outdoor freeze proof faucets installed a few years ago to replace 20 year old faucets that required a lot of maintenance. When I went to plug the hose in to one of the faucets it leaked.I was not happy because I figured it would be an expensive call to a plumber, so instead I started to YouTube (yes that is a verb now) how to fix a leaky faucet and discovered I could easily fix the float myself.I am a 43 year old woman and I needed to use Google twice to figure out what exactly a specific tool was (I am not handy at all) and my husband had to loosen the cap because I was not strong enough to do it myself. Replacing the float with this kit though, that was simple and our hose works great and there are no leaks.I paid less than $10 and spent 15 minutes for something I am sure a plumber would have charged me over $200 for.

Quick fix for my outdoor hose valve when the back flow preventer started leaking.

The numbers matched with the numbers on my hose bib outside and I haven't had a leak since I replaced it. The ease of installation was great and learned a little bit with my daughter standing right next to me so it was a nice little bonding time and in fact she was the one who told me that the hose bib was leaking in the first place in fact leaking was really spraying and this replacement kit fixed it instantly

left a hose on pressurized while sitting in the sun, and my original one started leaking even with the hose shut off so i had to find these to replace the damaged one. got these fast (bought two in case i need another in the future) at a good price, used teflon tape on the threads to install, and had a hard time getting it stop dripping-it's plastic so you have to be sure it threads properly, and you need to really crank it down to get it to stop dripping. it stopped but i am not looking forward to ever having to replace it.

Easy to repair. No leeks.
Worked well. Good design with wide float seal.

This design had a small float seat that relied on a locating pin to center it on the valve seat. It did not seal consistently. Also had a brittle clear plastic housing that was meant to screw into the valve body.
