We purchased one from a namebrand retailer they could not handle the sand for putting down artificial grass. This one handled it with ease very well built, good value for the money.

The flow control cable broke at the attaching end (Twice, as I modified it after the initial fail). Prior to that, even though I followed the instal & adjustment per the instructions, the cable failed to close COMPLETELY, many times. I had to hand check/close it every time. Dumped a major amount of product many times defeating it’s intended purpose, creating much more work, then was intended/desired. So frustrating, I resorted to using an old broadcast spreader (not recommended for my project). This unit was rendered useless and not only a waste of money BUT much more extra work. I’m not sure why this garden equipment is SO expensive, but purchased this unit as it was the cheapest I could find, as I only needed it as a ONE time job (albeit an Important one). Recommendation, don’t purchase this product, poor quality (cable).

Item arrived in extremely sturdy cardboard container…assembled without a hitch and I was out spreading preemergent fertilizer, just in time too. Spreader has that no nonsense construction and its controls seem perfectly adequate to push soreading any grass/fertilizer, etc

I bought this spreader to put down infill on artificial turf. The hand spreaders just don't cut it. This spreader IS NOT for anything heavy, wet, or thick like manure or dirt. It is for fine items such as turf infill, grass seed, or fertilizer. This spreader was fairly easy to put together, but you have to really pay attention to the instructions. They are not laid out super clear regarding installing the wheels and adjusting the hopper flow control. A referenced video by the company on Youtube would be very helpful. I'm a DIY person doing pretty much everything, so I was able to figure it out, but it took me longer than it should have.I couldn't get the flow control to stay in the same off position every time I opened and closed it, so I added a nut and bolt into the slot on the control mechanism that stopped the flow arm right at zero. (see pic)You need to start pushing it and then immediately open the flow control to your set amount. There is an adjustment knob on the control mechanism that allows you to set how far you want to open the hopper feed. Then, just as you are stopping to turn around, you need to shut it off. Otherwise you get a heavier flow at the start and stopping points. It's kind of like using a throttle on a boat.Overall the spreader worked great. If it wasn't for the average instructions and difficulty to get the hopper adjusted, I'd give it five stars. I do recommend this item.It should be noted that one of the wheels was cracked upon arrival. I contacted the seller and was sent a new wheel within a couple days. Kudos to them on great service.

I have large backyard and tons of areas that are flat where we spread Preen and other weed prevention. This product was super easy to install and makes my life so much easier when doing landscaping in the lawn or garden areas. Definitely recommend!

Product came with a missing pin. I contacted the seller and they never responded. I bought this to put down infill in my turf. The handle that controls the amount of infill that gets distributed does not work. I wish I had just bought a cheap bucket and drilled holes in it instead of purchasing this.
