I just received this ball winder today and tried it out for the first time. Very easy to setup and very easy to use. I purchase all my yarn in skeins, and they don't unwind very easily while I'm knitting or crocheting. Changing the skeins into balls makes it so much easier. Wish I would have had this a long time ago!!

There are no instructions included with this. For some, this might present a problem. You have to make sure you have just the right amount of tension on the yarn or it will not "ball" right. Overall for the price, it is better than having a "glob of yarn lying around.

The yarn ball winder does work but it does not meet requirements for large skeins of yarn; for this reason I'd give it a low rating overall.

Turns your yarn into nice size rolls so they don't get tangled super fast and easy.

Great for winding up small yarn cakes. The included clippers are quite sharp and cut yarn very easily. The tension rings are not bad.

Works GREAT if you go super slow but the moment you spin it even a little faster it flies off... outside of that it's great. But it's making me want to throw it out!
