About this item

  • MANY APPLICATIONS! Sump pump alarm, AC condensate pan overflow alarm, runaway toilet/jammed flapper, internal toilet leak alarm, fish tank, pond, fountain, rainwater drum/tank, cistern, water storage tank high or low level detector
  • SPEND LESS, GET MORE! YoLink smart sensors are not only economical but they are part of a growing family of products compatible with your Water Level Monitoring Sensor. Shut off or turn on water on high or low level detection, turn pumps on/off, activate sirens and lights. Automatically.
  • WIRE LESS! The sensor is wireless and battery-powered, with LoRa-based extreme long-range wireless (up to a 1/4 mile open-air!), so you can put your sensor where WiFi and older RF technologies can't go. No cables, conduit, raceway, trenching, or electrician required!
  • EASY DIY INSTALLATION with our innovative pendant-mount style float switch. Simply hang or suspend the float switch into the monitoring tank or container. The float switch's stainless steel washers provide ballast for stability against wave action, and also provide edge/sidewall protection. Tie wraps and tie wrap mount included.
  • KNOW NOW! This is a smart device with a full-featured app. Beware of products that require you be in earshot of the alarm. Types of notifications available to you include: app push notifications, email, SMS, siren or lighting activation, SpeakerHub sound or spoken messages. Each account receives 5 SMS per month per device, plus 5, free. YoLink Siren, Switch, Plug, Relay or SpeakerHub purchased separately.
  • ALARMING! The sensor has a built-in 105dB sounder, for local, indoor alarms. Or, add an optional remote Siren Alarm or other YoLink alarm product. Search B0887SMPKK for the Siren Alarm.
  • Looking for water depth monitoring? Our new Water Depth Sensor includes a water pressure sensor probe, capable of measuring water depths up to 16 feet (data reported in centimeters deep). Search B0C5QX3HHQ. Looking for the original Water Level Monitoring Sensor with probe? See the Water Leak Sensor 3, for applications not practical for a float switch, such as for washing machine water drain pipe backup detection. Search B08T8X4XWN
  • Looking for the optional ruggedized wall-mount bracket? The optional bracket provides the sensor with additional protection against impact, casual tampering and cord removal. Search B0C4PFTFM2
  • Compatible with Alexa, IFTTT and Home Assistant.
  • YoLink Hub is REQUIRED! This device will not operate without one of our hubs, not included. We recommend SpeakerHub, our talking, custom tone & sound, hub. Please search B09FSS95G9 for the SpeakerHub, or B07TQLKQLJ for the original Hub.

Works well for my application as a bowl-full monitor for a drain bowl for my portable window A/C when it's in heat mode. The trickiest part is mounting it at the correct height above the water.

After having our sump pit over flow over night when the pumps didn’t work for reasons unknown, my husband and I decided that we needed to get an alarm to know if the sump pit was getting too full. We have other YoLink products that we are happy with. We love that we have the app and can see the status of everything right there. We installed the YoLink sump pit water sensor, and it has brought us peace of mind that we will be warned before the sump pit over flows and floods the basement. With the storms, we’ve recent received a lot of rain, and our sump pumps have been work horses. I was worried that the pumps would overheat and give out (even though they aren’t old) because they were pumping so frequently. This alarm helped put me at ease that I would have a heads up to plug in the back up pump if things went south. Very easy to set up.

Device has a built-in alarm. This works without the description mentioned "required" HUB. If you do not need network access, or notifications, you do NOT need the HUB.On the other hand, I was unable to connect to the HUB when I though it was needed. The app did not allow for connecting this device to the HUB, at least not intuitively. I did NOT pursue this to know if it was just difficult (hidden method) or impossible as by that time I knew I did not need the HUB for how I intended to use it, so it may just be convoluted, difficult to connect them or inadequate instruction/deficient app design.

I have a few of these types of products and quite a few Alexa integrated products in my home. I purchased this to create an alarm system for my koi pond in case there is ever a leak which seems to happen a few times a year. It worked for about a week and I tested it a few times with low water. It does always go off when there is a leak and notify me. The problem is that it also goes off when there is not a leak. I reset the system and 3 days later it has the alarm going. I have tried this several times and it has not worked well for me. I have also not had good luck with the Alexa integration.

First, it’s important to know this is just the same “Water Sensor 2” sensor as YoLink’s rope-style water leak sensor and their remote cable style water leak sensor. During setup, it gets configured as their remote cable sensor, but the alerts are simply inverted, so that it alerts when “dry” rather than “wet”.Where this is important is in how the sensor communicates and behaves. Because the sensor is, at its core, a leak sensor, it tends to get very chatty if the body of water you are monitoring for level with this sensor has any chop, as in, say, a swimming pool (even one that’s not actively in use.) I didn’t mind this, as I turned off the alerts and was simply intending to use this with a Home Assistant automation to selectively trigger and stop an auto-pool-refill function. However, it seems like this extreme chattiness may be having other adverse consequences in how the device interacts with YoLink’s platform. I don’t have confirmation yet, but I suspect my device’s updates are being rate-limited by the upstream servers. This unfortunately results in the sensor becoming “stuck” in either the wet or dry reading, regardless of what the sensor’s float switch position actually is. And when the rate limiting (or whatever the problem is) finally resolves, if the float switch doesn’t again cross over the trigger point, the sensor will remain in whatever erroneous position. This has caused me to overfill my pool a couple times as I did not realize the issue was occurring. So, if you have a glass-smooth water surface, such as in a closed reservoir or a small indoor aquarium, where the float switch is reliably either on or off, this may work for you. But for anything where the sensor may tend to cross back and forth over the trigger point cintinuously, such as with any sort of automations, this may not be the best solution.I am currently in the process of working with YoLink support on the issues I’m having, and I will update this review with the results. To their credit, they are extremely helpful. Already they have sent me a replacement sensor to see if that would correct the issue (but it did not). I am now awaiting their next response after giving them detailed feedback.Update: within a week of my previous review, YoLink support informed me of a new updated firmware they had available that would allow a delayed reporting interval for water level alerts. In the computer programming world, you might call this a “debounce” capability. With this firmware update, I can specify how long the sensor must continuously register a water exhausted warning internally before reporting it in an upstream alert to the servers. After applying this update, and some back and forth with support regarding some behaviors that still seemed to not be quite right, I can now say it seems that the sensor is performing as intended for my needs in monitoring the water level in my outdoor swimming pool. I am of course still closely monitoring it to make sure it doesn’t overfill my pool again, but I am cautiously optimistic that YoLink has, with this update, corrected the issue I was having.I am really impressed with Yolink’s responsiveness and willingness to help me find solutions here. I don’t know if the minor firmware update they made available is something they had in the works already, or something they added at my request, as it was very much aligned to a suggestion I made that might alleviate the issue. Either way, it was rolled out seemingly in response to my troubles in a very short order. Kudos to them!I am raising my review rating to five stars (previously 3 stars) for now. Assuming the sensor continues to perform as it is now, the 5 star rating will be deserved. If not, I will return again with an update.

'Nicely designed and engineered products. 'So refreshing, after more than a decade of using a competative product, to encounter such quality, well-written and easy to follow instructions. I use this in my hot tub to alert me if I have a leak that drops the water level. 'Highly recommend!

Bought one to put in a water basin to trigger the shutoff of water pump once a certain depth of water is reached. Works great to turn off pump, but I have had to replace the batteries 3 times in the past 6 weeks.

Have a sump pump that is getting a bit older. Wanted a way to keep an eye on it without replacing it yet or waiting for it to flood my basement. Installed this along with the coordinating outlet monitor that will let us know if the outlet fails. Between these 2 devices we should be set. We have the outlet monitor on our garage freezer and it definitely works and has already notified us of a tripped outlet. Good piece of mind with these products. Like that you can get notifications on your phone if you are away and unable to hear the device's alarm.

Not loud enough. I’ll need the hub so that I receive email notification. So I bought the hub and everything works well. I get a text and an email should the water in my sump rise. Also, I get notifications through the hub if my Internet is down! And I get a notification when it’s back up I think it’s a very good product.

Don't buy!!! Contacted support to learn how to get app to stop sending notifications after a bad sensor. They didn't know how !!!! Expected better. Deleted the app until they can get me a proper answer.

I have a very active sump and have been caught off guard before when the sump quit. A very expensive flood followed. I installed this after that and it has saved me once already. It let me know something was up with my pump when it triggered an alert. Flood number two averted. Would recommend.
