They will admit this is just a chime in a recycled cardboard tube.I have had this in my cart for a while and after receiving, it was very hard for me to see how such an expense was justified in the construction.It is all in the tune.It's almost like the Nicole Freres music box of wind chimes and that's where the precise Craftmanship is due the respect and expense.They state it will not hold up to the elements outside but I have mine under the porch with supervised neglect. I will check on its condition from time to time because it's hard not to share.Although, it is not very loud and it's hard to compete with the neighbor's wind chime wars who have their porches decked out with oversized chimes. At least, I can hear it on the porch.

I'm a Sacred Sound Healing Facilitator, and I perform sound baths with bowls and other instruments. This chime was ordered to be in harmony with my set of bowls that are on the pentatonic scale. I purchased a Koshi knock off before, and I can definitely hear the difference of sound quality.

While the chimes do indeed sound beautiful, the tube is made of cardboard similar to a very small shipping tube. Its not as thin as a toilet paper or paper towel tube but if you picture those products, this is a more sturdy version of that rather than a proper wind chime. The artistic covering on the tube exterior is made of a layer of paper glued onto the surface. Here in my neighborhood wind chimes are hanging off the eaves of every home, and I would have been happy to hang two or three of these off of different corners had they proved to be the sort of wind chime product the typical consumer would expect.The only way this product is usable is to find a window you can open and hang a hook inside of the house for it to dangle off of. And remember to open the window to hear the chimes, and close it at night, or when the rain starts.There are no warnings about this indoor-only suitability on the product page, and you have only the word 'cardboard' going along with 'metal' buried in the product materials list to give you a hint such a limitation may even exist.For this high of a price I expect a product in an entirely different class, like what is commonly delivered by seemingly all other competitors.

The sound is lovely after I adjusted the tines so the clapper hit them just right. The photos and videos make it look bigger. The base of the chime is less than 5 inches long. I thought by looking at the ads that it was maybe 8 inches long. the colorful outside is paper, and a bit dull. I may not have paid that much had I known those things.

This product is for sound healing sessions and I would like to own the entire set of chimes eventually. Great quality, durable, and beautifully made. Customer service was wonderful and answered my questions right away.
