Your cart is empty.The StudSensor A100 is Zircon’s newest edge locating electronic stud finder that is sold exclusively on Amazon. The A100 is designed with a smooth, ergonomic rubber grip allowing for a comfortable yet secure hold for any size hand, at any angle. This stud finder uses the most recent technology in density detecting software and circuitry. The scanner has 2 scanning modes to locate the edges of wood and metal studs and joists behind walls, floors, and in ceilings up to 1.5 inches (38 mm) deep. In StudScan Mode, the SS A100 locates the edges of shallower wood or metal studs up to 0.75 of an inch (19 mm) deep. Switch over to DeepScan Mode to double the scanning depth to 1.5 inches (38 mm). This stud sensor is programmed with a WireWarning Detection feature that indicates the presence of live unshielded electrical wires up to 2 inches (50 mm) deep when using either stud scanning modes. Finding studs using this edge finding tool is simple. To get started, install one brand new 9V alkaline battery (not included). Place the unit flat against the wall and press the Power Button to calibrate the sensor. Once you hear a beep indicating calibration is complete, continue to hold the Power Button and slowly slide the tool across the surface. The easy-to-read LCD will alert you as the stud detector approaches the edge of the stud in both scanning modes. Once the edge is detected, the patented arrow-shaped SpotLite Pointer will shine, the translucent base will illuminate, and an audio tone will sound. DO NOT DRILL HERE! Instead, mark the spot in the “V’ marker groove at the head of the tool and continue past the stud. Repeat the process in the opposite direction and mark the opposite edge of the stud. The center of the stud is midway between the two marks. Make sure to note whether the WireWarning Detection is alerting you to live, unshielded AC wiring before drilling between the two marks into the center of the stud. With the Zircon StudSensor A100, you can safely maneuver through the most complicated of projects with the professional confidence that comes from owning a Zircon.

I bought the Zircon StudSensor A150 to help find studs in my wall for mounting three TV wall mounts, and it worked perfectly! This tool was easy to use and intuitive, which was a big relief since I was working with wallpaper and had to get it right the first time—no room for mistakes or oversized holes.Finding the center of the studs was crucial, and this scanner made it simple. I located the center of two studs, marked them, and double-checked to ensure accuracy before drilling. When I finally went for it with a 1/4-inch hole, it was dead-on in the center of each stud. Exactly what I needed!This stud finder is reliable and works great for precise tasks like this. I’ll definitely be using it for other projects around the house. Highly recommended for anyone needing an accurate and easy-to-use stud finder!

I use this before i tried to mount my tv to the wall. Just takes 1 9v battery and ready to go. easy to use, just hold down button on the side and slowly slide against wall where you want to find the stud. This unit finds the center of the stud which i like. Works great so far.

Works pretty well. If I need to replace it at some point I would try a different brand. Finds studs okay, a lot of false readings, annoying when working where stud spacing is inconsistent. Electrical detection is very good

I just recently purchased this and already I love it. I live in a mobile home so the studs are often not where one thinks they should be. This makes it very easy to find the center of the stud as well as how thick it is. My electrician was using his and I knew I just had to have one when I saw how easy it was to use and how well it worked. Happy with my purchase.

The product is simple and has only one job find the studs. It does the job well.There are 3 cons with it. I give it 3 stars. Truly deserves 2 stars but one extra star for the price.1. You have to view the display at 90degree any slight angle in your vision you cant see the display.2. It is bulky and you cannot use it near window/door trims.3. You have to slide it across the wall without lifting it even a single bit. Any hiccup and it doesn't work.

The first observation was that the felt type material that contacts the wall keeps the unit from moving smoothly. The contact area should be plastic. When it does move smoothly, it does not detect the same edge in multiple tries. This unit was tested on several different walls and through inexpensive ceramic tile. Poor and/or non-existent sensing was a probleme everywhere. NOT ALSO: If the wall material is not tight againats the stud, it does not sense at all.
