One thing I did not like, using in pine board, was the insert did not grab the wood tight enough when using the supplied drill bit. I switched to a slightly smaller 5/16 bit and they screwed in easy and very tight. This I a great value and turned out perfectly.

I bought these for a project I'm still working on but I did make a little test box and beat the crap out of it to see if I could get these to fail and the only part that failed was a bit of the wood split nowhere near any of the threaded inserts. I like them. I didn't even glue them in place either. I used the screws from another set I bought that had longer inserts than I actually needed.

These small 1/4-20 inserts hold the bolt tight, stay in place well. Comes with everything needed to install. Good buy.

The drill bit broke rather quickly using a dewalt drill and so I had to go to Lowe’s to get a new drill bit which was more expensive. Not worth it.

So far not one bad insert. Just as good as the “brand Name†version.

I have little experience with this type of connector, but I was able to use this without error in MDF on my first try. The fact that it came with the bit and allan key was a nice touch.

Very good product for it's intended purpose but it would be good to note that if you wish to flush the head of the insert into your surface you'll need a countersink or something similar.

Easy to over drill the depth. To prevent bit tear out in plywood spin bit backwards to burn the veneer layer off. Once veneer is burned drill as per normal. If you don't want hole to drill all the way through use the needle tip as an indicator on the other side. When the tip just brakes through other side finish and thread insert.

I soon plan to mount these inside four Ash table legs, so I'll soon know how well the drill bit, Allen key and inserts work together on hard wood as a team.
