We're not the original plug ends for my 1992 Yamaha XT 600. So, I had to modify the wiring to use oldold plug end. Then figure out the right wiring pattern for switch. Once that was done, I found it works well.I ordered another switch for possible future use

Used on a 40 Y.O. bike that’s been rode hard and put away wet (many times)! Other than being much prettier than the rest of the bike-you’d never know these switches were aftermarket!

The switch feels nice and the engine run/off switch works beautifully, but the ignition switch to start the bike stopped working for me and refuses to make continuity even after cleaning and a resoldering the wires to the switch itself.

A number of existing reviews mention the kill switch markings being wrong, but mine (January 2025) arrived with the correct labels. This was purchased as a replacement to a 99% identical, old K&S 12-0203 switch assembly. While the overall “finish†is slightly worse, this has one very important design improvement. The key area of failure on the K&S was the plastic plate on which the starter button contacts lie. This new one has relocated a screw closer to the area of failure, which should improve longevity and reliability. Wired my motorcycle’s OEM harness connector up to this and it works like a charm! Hoping this lasts a long time, but it’s $14 instead of $130 for the only other option I could find for what I needed so well worth a try.

Great replacement for the stock unit on the DR650. When you wire it into the DR you have to connect one wire from both the ignition and the starter switch and run that single lead back to the plug; the connection is hidden by the cable wrap on the stock bike. Pump some dielectric grease into the back to keep it protected from water and you're good. Includes wires with the right ends for front brake light switch too.
