So my wife wanted to redo the bathroom on the main floor. I said whatever. She said she would paint it because she painted her parents bathroom once and was a “proâ€. I was skeptical but let it slide. Long story short she painted half the bathroom with industrial grade primer that i can only imagine being used on the hull of world war 2 battleships before i walked in to check the progress and had what I'm guessing was a miniature stroke. Anyways i bought this sander to erase her “misjudgment in paintâ€, it worked pretty well and Im glad i have it for future projects. Great little sander good power.

Finally, a battery-operated tool that makes sense and is needed! When sanding my home's exterior, not having to deal with power cords made it such a wonderful experience. This sander has almost the same power as my corded model, and the new clamp for the sandpaper made using it a pleasure. I bought mine as a "Bare Tool" since I already had Ridgid batteries, but my 2.0 mah batteries gave up too quickly. I bought 2-4.0 mah batteries and they kick a**. I highly recommend this tool if you have lots of sanding to do. I use mine wearing my Beats headphones to alleviate boredom.

I bought one of these last year and it suddenly began randomly shutting off while using it. Stupidly did not sign up for the warranty so I bought another one today thinking that maybe I got a lemon and also because all of my cordless tools are Ridgid. This one started randomly shutting off right out of the gate. Why does Ridgid continue to sell these if they don't work?

I have not used it yet, but I ran it ,it runs good and can use and Ridgid battery.The only thing is because it was no purchased from Home Depot, it will only carry a three year warranty and not a life time.

Ridgid’s battery powered products are among the best, and this tool does as well. Perhaps a little loud, but powerful, reliable, easy to grip, light, easy to use

Turn off by itself randomly in the middle of sanding, regardless of load. I tried three different charged batteries with no change. Poor quality. I'm going to stick with DeWalt.
