This is the same Glass Breaker Punch Tool that I was trained with. They do work effectively. I did have step by step instructions and safety precautions before Amazon changed my answer wording, I was very specific in my first response, this is my re-attempt. First thing's first, you'll want a pair of thick sleeves and gloves (preferably and importantly a pair of Firefighter Safety Gloves)., secondly you'll want (proper training as to how to use this tool). To use this tool be sure that you are using it away from any person's harms way (including patients, bystanders, and fellow Extricators). Only use on proper glass. (vehicles are designed with a safety glass, and this tool is commonly preferred to be used on side windows due to many windshields being laminated, big, and require proper training of removal.) If you are inexperienced, please seek assistance from someone certified in Extraction Training. In order to use this tool (with gloves), place one hand flat vertically in front of the desired hand to push with. And apply the tip of the glass breaker (preferably) in the desired (lower corner) of the window. Note: (It does not take much force) Note: safety glass is designed to uphold shock force in the centers of itself to prevent shattering. If you are unsure how to use this tool, or have never been trained with one, seek assistance from a Trained and Certified Extrication Professional. Keep out of reach of children, and those who are not authorized to use this tool. Be very careful ,cautious, and responsible when using. Thank you.Request to Amazon: Do not leave out my safety instructions this time. I am very specific on my wording for public safety.

This is a great tool for jobs that require precise drilling. It is way better and more accurate than juggling the piece, a standard center punch and a hammer. Some reviewers said it did not work consistently or at all. This means they are not using it correctly. You must use a quick firm push for it to work. If you push it in slowly it will not work.I recommend this automatic center punch tool. I would buy it again if I need a new one but that will likely be a while.

These seem to be made a little cheaply. They don’t depress all the way and you have to press them down a couple times to get that “punch†press again otherwise they will still do what they’re supposed to do though!

I keep one in my fire gear and one in my car which I carry in my tactical pants when working EMS. Great value; tool is priceless when you need it in an emergency.

Two handy spring punches. Nothing more and nothing less.

Didn’t have the highest hopes based on the price, but these are also very simple devices, so it shouldn’t be hard to make sure that they work. One works OK, the other one doesn’t work at all. Disassembled, inspected, reassembled. No change. Not even going to bother with the return. 2 out of 10 - do not recommend.

Why do you need a punch to mark material that you’re drilling or do you want to have one of these on plantation need to get in or out of your own car window. This is a well-made spring loaded punch very snappy return.
