Use it at work - machinist . Price was reasonable , like having 2 scribes . Never got extra tips with a scribe before - these should last forever .

Durability is high. The price is great, the price is what made my decision as it ends up being twice as expensive to buy at a store. If you have not used one before having a solid guide helps. I’ve also used it to etch on concrete for drill spots and it worked well enough. On concrete it is not super easy to see but was great in the pouring rain.

As a reasonably accomplished home hobbyist, and jack of all trades, I find myself working with all types of material. When previously marking metal I have used a generic scratch awl (aka ice pick). It’s effectiveness is mediocre, and it typically requires sharpening after use on metal surfaces.These carbide tip markers are fantastic by comparison. They yield crisp, easily, visible markings. They can be used repeatedly before they dull. Considering the included replacement tips, they should provide years of service to anyone except the most extreme users. As stated, I wish I had purchased these years ago.

These scribes work great for accurate marking on metal. I love them so much I give them out as gifts.The hardened tips seem to last forever.
