This is a nice antenna for a Baofeng UV-5R. It fits great and cosmetically I couldn't find any flaws the threads in the base are very nice. The velcro that holds it is quality. Comes with a couple of spacers that I used as the directions specify that work great for installation. This antenna is not light it is built better than I expected. I don't have an antenna analyzer so I tested it with a SWR meter because I don't want to damage my rig and it tested just fine for me. Reception is much better than the original antenna I was amazed by how I was picking up some far away signals very clearly. I don't know if my transmit distance is better or if the audio is any better. My friend he has the same antenna/same brand on his UV-5R and he said it is excellent so I bought one for myself I am glad that I did. Hopefully someone will post new pictures of this antenna on a antenna analyzer or a photograph of the SWR reading because that would be really helpful for people to see.

Looks, feels and works PERFECT!!!! This is a QUALITY antenna that will work perfect for your remote communication needs. I'm taking it to baja but have tested it here in town and it works A+All the channels come in CRYSTAL clear I was able to lower my squelich because of improved signal from larger antenna.Folds up and stows perfect. Material feels just like military stile folding antenna you would have in service minus the different antenna attachment.Off road racers, off roaders campers it anyone that wants to have the BEST SIGNAL possible needs to get ridnof the others and switch to this unit.Hands down the best yet. I have been racing for years and this is a fine unit.

Works fine for me on 2 meter band. Reviews saying this is not a real antenna because they are made of tape measure aluminum fail to understand we routinely make Yagis out of this same material in ham radio.

Mine picks up the local 2 meter repeater well, and works for the local 162.475 MHz NOAA (1.8 meter) broadcast. Good price too.

They work, but are not convenient for my use. They look cool if you want to LARP, or dress up in a tier-1 operator costume to patrol your AO (or cul-de-sac). I do neither…

Opened up as they should, and tuned to midband on both 70 cm and 2 m.The minimal VSWR, indoors and out, was 1.2. That is fantastic in my book.The other benefit is the upper part of the antenna unscrews, allowing forbetter transport.Refreshing to find a handitalkie antenna that is actually on spec!
