I’ve been a ham operator for many years. Recently I have been wanting to do portable operations. With this unit I have the option to antenna mounting. You can purchase a spike from the local hardware store and mount a vertical antenna to it using this adapter.I recently purchased a surveyor tripod and mounted my vertical antenna to it using this unit.It’s made with heavy metal and with the two part assembly you can mount it onto a vertical or horizontal pipe like platform.
