This vise is a nice one for modeling and small jobs. It holds snuggly to where it is clamped, has nice rubber cushions, and has a convenient swivel action that tightens snuggly as well. Overall a nice vise and a good purchase.

So, in case you haven't read the other 10,000 posts, let me say, slow down and know your use case. I bought exactly what I wanted. This is not forged iron, this is not ductile iron. This is cast iron which has a very low psi. It's a ok for wood hobby and light gunsmithing, light use. If you do metal work, by a forged steal vise. Wood work most ductile and vast iron vises will be fine. If you want the best vise, go get a Ornge Vise Company model. A good forged vise starts out at around 180.00 bucks for just a small. I think this one will work untill I need a big one. And if we are honest, Harbor Freight coupon special is fine for a home vise. Heads up, I had to return the first one as it was missing plastic pads and odd ball hardware. So the new one was sent and it's box was open with the wrong vise base bad.1) I bought new hardware because the screws suck plus i wanted a little longer mounting screws with wing nuts.2) Attaching clamp to vise I upgraded to 12-9 metric bolt with higher tencel strength hex head.3) Don't over tighten like some here. I had to place washers on the new bolt to keep them from penatrating the vise wall, which apparently some couldn't figure out.4) The swivel bar had to be ground down so it would clear the vice jaws.5) The round clamp foot needed a little more swaging.6) the base bad for the vise is useless unless you cut the cuff around the outside, its completely wrong. Unless I'm doing something, wrong but I'm not. I think this peace of plastic is for the round base vises that don't have mounting holes. Later I will cut the cup up flat and see if that works. 7) I also had to file and hone the slide contacts and edges. Now she runs smooth.8) I oiled everything to death and including the swivel in the base. I will more than likely grease the slide and swivel points when I have more time.All in all, there are 62 others selling this exact model. This manufacture didn't have a way to contact, so it's all standard Amazon order and you might get back a model that was returned.I still like it lol.

This is a great little vise, but the manufacturing is lazy. All the cut edges needed to be filed down because they had sharp burrs on them. Also nothing was greased. I lightly filed it all down and used some brake grease on the tracks and the main bolt. The rubber pieces are worst part. The big round one doesn't really fit anything on this vice correctly. it's almost like it was manufactured for something else and just thrown in with this.. all the rubber was warped and coated in some type of tar. I washed it off with some hand soap and one of the pieces for the base pretty much melted in my hand. I did manage to put the covers on the vise grip part and used a blow dryer to warm them up and then clamped it down to hold them in shape. wrapped the whole thing in a hair tie and let it sit for a day and now thy hold their shape and look like they should be useful. I ended up throwing out the melted piece and the ill fitting large round bit and just cut up an old mouse pad, double sided taped it where needed and all is well.Overall for the price and a the little bit of work it takes to prepare this vise for use, this is a great little project vise.

This is the smallest but strongest vice grip. It’s easy to use and easy to transport. Fits on any work bench.

There are two bolts that secure the base to the bottom clamp. In the one I received, one of the holes was so poorly tapped the bolt just slopped around for the first 5- 6 threads. I had to find a longer bolt that could bite the threads deeper down. I would have returned this unit but didn't want to waste Amazon's money shipping a heavy item two ways.The vise comes with some soft covers for the jaws but they fit poorly and are prone to falling off.That said, the rest of the vise seems reasonably well made and suitable for the light benchtop use I plan for it.

I purchased this vise to secure my handgun while working on it, worked out great, especially with the rubber pads included, did not damage finish of gun. Also easy to setup in multiple ways and very portable, great investment.

The item came in a plastic bag. The screws were missing so I put in 2 (mismatched) of my own. Other screws and washers were not in the bag . There is no instruction booklet. Not sure where any unused pieces go. (See pics) I regret this purchase. It presents as low quality with short life span.
