The pin numbers and GND silkscreen on the board were very helpful keeping track of which wire goes where. In my application Roboteq HDC-2460 motor controller I was unable to use the 25 pin and 9 pin connectors side by side with the shells on due to the narrow spacing between connectors. I was able to use them by removing both backshells.

Years ago, I had to solder custom DB25 connectors from time to time. I thought the idea of screw terminals (new to me) would be a real boon. The Ambits includes all the pieces you need to create a tight and secure connector. The build quality is very good and when complete, it passed my continuity test first try. This was only four wires, so I figured this would be a quick build. However, there is something of a learning curve involved. First, the wire ends need to be trimmed and tinned. This connector was split out into two different wires, and I forgot that only the thin (22gague) internal wires can be exposed, but the insulation needs to be placed under the clamp. Also, the terminal arrangement with two blocks at 90º make it hard if your wires need to go into the corner. So, for this few wires, I'm not sure if a traditional solder connector would have been better. But as a screw-type, I think this is the best of the lot.

Like the ease of not having to solder a DB, but the case on this and it's female counterpart taper up to the back, making it almost impossible to use two of these side by side with each other. I used them on a Nautel NV series transmitter exciter to connect the remote control and monitoring which are on top of one another on the back of the chassis, and the db connectors were so close together, they splayed a bit when fastened into the DB socket. The manufacturer of these needs to shave off about 1/16" or 3/32" to allow them to fit squarely into the DB when stacked next to each other. They work, but I will look for another connector like this that doesn't taper out. It needs to be straight, all the way from front to rear. There's still plenty of room to get your wire in the back even if they got rid of the taper. Like the fact they do provide various sizes of strain reliefs for multi-conductor wires of all kinds with each connector.
