✎When using a tap wrench, it's important to follow certain techniques:
Breaking and discharging chips: While tapping, after rotating the wrench by approximately 1/2 turn, it should be reversed by about 1/2 turn. This back-and-forth motion helps break and remove the chips or metal shavings produced during the threading process. By reversing the tap, the chips are cleared, allowing for smoother tapping.
Handling difficulty in rotation: If you encounter difficulty in rotating the tap wrench during the tapping process, it is not recommended to increase the rotation force. Instead, it is advised to withdraw the tap frequently from the hole to remove the chips or debris that may be obstructing the threading process. This ensures that the tap can function effectively and prevents damage to the threads.

Great addition to my tool box, the only downside is I had to disassemble to add a center location in the knurled piece. Other than that it works as expected.

The ratcheting mechanism is mounted to a free floating sleeve that wobbles back and forth and randomly put the tool in neutral and back into gear with every rotation.

Worked ok the spring broke in one and Vendor will replace the items. These are for light duty projects if your expecting more forget it. Four stars is for the vendor replacing the broken parts quickly. Tks

I am a machinist and its common fir me to hand tap fixtures…. it performed well just keep in mind the largest of this set was still too small for a 1/2-13 tap…. seemed to work well on all taps below 3/8 (possibly 7/16 but never tried)
