I purchased this "temperature switch" for a low Watt heating element for a bird bath water feature to keep it from freezing. It worked for three days then quit. I do not recommend.

Working great. On and off at correct temp. Within a degree or 2. Not a big issue. Nonfrozen water for the animals now.

An inexpensive way to add thermostatically controlled functionality to certain appliances. This switch is intended to turn on at 32F and off at 50F. The on/off modes are fixed and not adjustable by the user. It's important to understand that the switch on/off temperatures are not absolute and will instead function within a range around the 32 and 50 degree on/off temperatures. Rated for 15 amps @ 110vac or 1650 watts. An LED will illuminate when the switch is on and go out when the switch removes power from the load. For a quick test test upon receipt, I applied power to the switch in an environment of about 66 deg F and noted the switch was OFF. Then the switch was placed in the freezer to cold soak for 30 minutes. Taken out and plugged in, the LED was ON. A computer charger was plugged in to the module and began charging the computer. In about 15 minutes, the switch had warmed sufficiently to shut off power. I didn't test the full 15 amp capacity of this unit...yet. For the time being I would limit its use to 1000 watts. Just a personal choice. The switch is asserted to be UL listed. As I recall, the pamphlet supplied with the unit and indeed the listing indicates a UL listing, but don't remember seeing anything on the device itself. I don't have access to the item at the moment and am unable to verify. You can find an item by its model number in the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) database. This item doesn't appear to have a unique model number. The UL Product iQ database allows users to search for UL Listed and Certified products using various criteria, including model numbers, file numbers, and category control numbers (CCN). Searches are also possible by keyword, manufacturer, etc., that might help track down and item. A one time registration with a free account is required.I have tested many hundreds of items originating from this part of the world and sadly I have found a lot of license is taken in listing product specifications and attributes the products do not meet or are not that obvious. The whole nature of this seems to be taken too lightly. The switch is not weatherproof and should be sheltered adequately for outdoor use.

The plastic holding the temperature sensing circuitry was not even fully sealed in. The plastic panel was bulging out and could not be fully clicked into place. Very poor quality.

It runs for a little while until you leave and come back and it is 20 degrees and not running. Maybe it would work with 1 heat lamp.

Arrived as scheduled, just as described & pictured. Put to the test recently during the cold snap that gripped north panhandle of florida. Would buy again. Overall very happy with purchase.
