I wanted to write a review for this. I made a trough for our chickens. This way they have water even if we are gone for a week or even a month. In the Florida heat, the chickens need water and this valve saved us a big headache. I recommend getting this float valve and getting another one in the future for some other products.

The elbow fitting can't be tightened enough to keep it from leaking. If this valve constantly leaks, I could save the expense and just leave a hose in the tank on a trickle. I used teflon tape AND puddy. I tightened the fittings until I was afraid I'd break the valve. It still leaks! JUNK! The gaskets they provide have don't fit anywhere in the assembly. But if they did fit, the would have nothing to seat on. Waster of money and time!!

I have wanted to install an automatic pool filler. They retail over $60 and are plastic, plus you load them with stones to keep them on the pool edge. I spotted this stainless-steel level controller. I already had PVC pipe to the pool, so it was just a matter of fitting this to the end and setting the correct level. A good deal at the price.

I installed the valve today, using this in a rain barrel fed by a diverter valve. The valve does work to shut off the water flow from the diverter hose when the water level comes up as advertised. However I feel like the rate of flow when it is not blocking incoming water is rather low. It will likely take more time to fill this 50 gallon barrel than without it. Also, the threaded stainless steel adapter was needed to attach it to the bulkhead connector inside the barrel, but with a LOT of thread tape. I will look for another model that has a higher flow capacity, but this one will do the job for now.Now I just need a "window" that I can install on the barrel top to see into it, as this barrel had a mesh screen in the top to let water in from a source, and I need to block that off but still see inside.

During the summer, our pool loses a great deal of water due to evaporation and splashing. We have utilized a similar product that would automatically trigger refill based on the level that was set. After it failed, I searched for a less expensive option. This coupled with a few PVC pieces was a perfect solution.

This thing has multiple fittings that it really doesn’t need, but you have to use to attach it to a hose and all it did was leak. It did fill up and stop but all of the other fittings leak.
