The glass is great! Scratch resistant, heavy enough not to slide around on carpet. No fear of breaking either. Very sturdy. It is a fingerprint magnet when you're putting it down, but it's easy to clean. Love the smoky gray color. Clear enough to see the carpet beneath but dark enough not to accidentally trip over. Not too slippery, even in socks. Worth the cost. Packaging is rubbish, but it did its job.

I love my new floor mat, my chair rolls easy on it and it doesn't slip around. Good quality and just the right thickness. I have had it for about 3 month's now and I don't see any scratches, it's nice and clear.

I had a long career in the field of education. So I tend to "grade" products that I purchase. In this case, I would say the tempered glass chair mat deserves an A+. I have a large room with 2 desk areas. I recently had new wall-to-wall thick carpeting installed over a new thick foam underlayment. Very comfortable to walk on. But...both office chairs with wheels basically wouldn't move. I literally had to get out of the chair to place the chair where I wanted and then awkwardly slide into the chair. Very annoying. Logged onto Amazon and discovered tempered glass mats. Frankly, I was a bit concerned about the safety of glass, and didn't really even know what "tempered" meant. However...after doing a little research to educate myself, I decided to order one of these mats. Right decision! I was amazed at how easily it was to get in and out of the chair, with effortless movement. In addition, when I discovered that the extremely well packaged mat was shipped from California to my residence in the state of Maine...and arrived without even a small scratch...I was impressed. After using the mat for a little more than a week of use, I ordered another one for my other desk. And the price was reasonable. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a thick carpet situation in their desk area. Also, the mats look classy atop the carpeting. I like the effect of the gray glass, through which you can easily see the carpeting, but also easily see the perimeter of the mat. The desk chairs move so easily, that I now know how little movement is required (to avoid rolling off the mat.) Also: I had posed an online question to the seller prior to ordering, and received a fairly quick response. Impressive. One of the best purchases I've made in quite awhile.

Tempered glass mat is very sturdy and so far works great over a carpeted office. It is good size to keep chair from rolling off edges, and is nice and clear without blemishes. Only issue I have, is with the archaic packing used in the box. There has to be a better solution than using horrible, thin, styrofoam sheets, that crumble and get everywhere. That stuff creates a mess, that takes forever to clean up, sticks to everything, and is not good for environment. One would think these companies, would have found a better more environmentally friendly packing material, besides this mess.

I couldn't be more pleased with this item. It arrived quickly enough, but the main thing is the quality. This stable, beautiful chair mat makes me feel better to sit down at my work station. Also, it allows anyone to see, without obstruction, the nice new carpeting we installed recently. And it was half the price of another one I was considering. Great job, seller!

It doesn’t seem like glass should be used as a roller mat with carpet but this works perfectly. It has been such an upgrade over the previous plastic mat. If you have carpet get one of these. I actually don’t mind my office being carpeted with how easy my chair rolls on this mat.

I wondered whether a tempered glass chair mat was a good idea. It isn't. After 3 weeks, the chair mat shattered into thousands of pieces. (see images)The product is smaller than listed on the site. It is one full inch shorter on one side and 1/2 inch shorter on the other side.The seller agreed to a refund but asked me to return the product: a box full of broken glass.
