Product Description

SCREW CHUCK

Use the wood screw

1.Turn OFF and unplug your lathe.

2.Mount the screw chuck in the chuck with an internal grip. The bottom lip of the screw chuck

should be under the jaws to help hold it in place.

3.The base of the workpiece should be flat and square to its sides. Using an 8.3mm (21/64") drill

bit or a 11.5mm (29/64") drill bit, drill a pilot hole straight down into the center of the workpiece,

approximately 31mm (1-7/32") deep.

4.Screw the workpiece onto the screw chuck. The base of the workpiece should be flush against

the top of the jaws.

In a carrying case, it is easy to store and keep the parts together. It fits like a glove on the Powermatic 1420 lathe. It is the right size for medium turnings

Great Product, my on complaint is the sharp edges once if stoned them down all was good. I recommend this product to anyone that wants to expand their skills.

The Plastic flat jaws had cracks between the threaded inserts(large enough to catch fingernail on). When tightened down on a tenon the jaws still wiggle. Returned.

I've been using this chuck for about several weeks and I find it to be a solid well-built tool. The jaws grip uniformly and solidly ... no slippage. I have a good feeling this will last for many years of dependable use.

Mounted it with the adapter to my lathe. Could visibly see the wobble when I turned the lathe on. I believe most of this was due to the poorly fitting adapter. It felt sloppy on the spindle and when the set screw was tightened it probably offset it. I measured both the chuck on the spindle and the spindle without the chuck. I had less than 1 mil runout on the spindle, and over 15 mils of runout on the chuck. Had to return it, as this is an unacceptable amount of runout.

The flat jaws are not made from metalThe chuck does not come with a 3/4 16tpi adaptor to suit the chuck thread it does come with an adaptor 1" 8tpi to 1-1/4" 8tpiBut every thing else is good
