I bought this as a complement to my four spur drive, and I use this one more often that the other now. Works as advertised. If you're going to run it in a four jaw chuck, scuff the mandrel because this drive tends to slip a bit no matter how much you tighten the jaws.

I purchased this product to make coffee scoop handles. I had been using a cheaper jaw chuck that was working okay, but this drive center will reduce the waste I had from using the jaw chuck. This drive center does an excellent job of securing the wood to the drive end of the lathe and I don't have to worry about it coming loose like I do with the jaw chuck. I absolutely recommend this drive center!

It wasn’t handled very carefully, so a couple of teeth were flattened & crooked.Still works fine, tho...

Most lathes seem to come with a 4 prong drive no matter the brand. Those you have to hammer on. Or push it in tight so the wood grabs if using a bit of tree. This one does seem. To require much effort to get the prongs to secure the wood. And it’s less likely to cause the wood to split. It fits the lathe well and makes turning both easier and safer.

Have used at high and low speeds (600-2400) on hard and soft wood. Works great provided you dont get too aggressive with the cutting tool.

Used for the first time today. I have a spur drive that came with the lathe but this is much better. Spring loaded point centers the bit and doesn't force the point into the wood. This held in place on the wood without having to force it and it didn't slip once. Great spur drive
