Good quality set, make sure you have plenty of forearms and grip strength though if your drilling several holes lol. Also find a good hardwood handle if you make one, a small scrap of pipe 1â€x3/16â€x 10â€works best in my opinion and easy to carry with the set

1. INITIAL REVIEW - I just received my Scotch Eye Wood Auger Drill Bit. Upon opening it I was glad to see it was packaged very well. It came in a vinyl sleeve with the screw tip plastic capped for safety and to protect it from damage. The bit is coated with machine oil to prevent rust and corrosion. ðŸ‘🼠My top likes of this product so far. a. The bit is sharp b. It is well constructed of heavy duty steel c. It is long enough to drill through an 8x8 log or board d. The Coating looks to be Black Nitride, if so, it looks as though it was applied properly, which will prevent against rust and corrosion.This is my initial review and opinion of this bit. I will update my review after testing it in the field. For those curious as to whether it is worth purchasing, as of mt initial impression, i say yes. It's worth the cost (as of July 18, 3034,) and I give it 5-stars based on these initial impressions. We shall see if it maintains that rating after being put to work, but after reading other reviews, I'm certain it will. âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸

A Scotch eye has 2 significant parts. The eye to serve as a handle and make the dowel, and the auger to tap the hole. It is imperative that the eye and auger are the same size to make this system work.In this set, each auger is different, however the eyes are all the same meaning you can’t make the dowel.

This is an extremely sharp, very easy to use Scotch Eye Wood Auger that is made out of very durable, high quality material and has an extremely robust and rugged appearance and performs flawlessly, it is a must-have for any wilderness enthusiast, homesteader, survivalist, woodworker or anyone just interested in making something themselves out of wood with the proper tools.

So I'm just starting out bushcrafting, and I've seen these used to make furniture etc, so I figured I'd get one. Now I don't have any real world usage case yet so I can't tell you how it's actually working in the field, but I can tell you it is a very high quality piece of tooling that's machined well and is exceptionally sharp. 5 Stars.
