I have never used this product before, but I am very pleased with it. It stays in place when you put it down and really sticks. The tape is fairly thick and I can see how it will seal up the screw holes that go thru it. I will use this again on future decking projects that I have planned.

Used two widths on deck joists and beams. Getting the clear backing tape started and pulled off took some practice but wasn’t terrible. Tape was susceptible to nicks and tears especially when it got hot (in the sun). I would recommend using this tape on all deck projects.

I used this tape on my deck and found that it adheres well. This tape is softer and less nick and abrasion resistant than the brand I bought at the local hardware store. It’s still a good value though.

Very sticky, can’t see the joists between the decking because the tape is black

This review is on a 4†x 50’ roll of butyl tape. Butyl tape is one of those things that you should actually have around your home. You don’t need it to be 4†wide or even 50’ of it, but trust me, if you don’t have it, you will need it. This is designed primarily for putting on the top of floor joists, but there are a ton of uses for this.This roll is well made and the tape itself has enough “grab†to it, without being insane. The only strange part about this, and it really isn’t a problem just kind of funny, is that the tape roll had the wrong label on it, saying 1 5/8†and not 4 “. It does not lose a star for that.Buy a roll, put it in your “parts boxâ€. You’ll be glad you did.Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. I write all of my reviews to reflect my personal observations and opinions on a product. It matters not if I have purchased the item myself or if it was provided to me for review.
