An excellent price and a very well made item. Screwed right into my lathe and after using it for several weeks still looks like new. It holds the wood very well and even initially out of balance chunks stay in place due to many screw holes available for screws.

I picked this up to add a larger faceplate to my lathe tools. This one is bigger than the stock plate that came with my Nova Comet II, and is built well. It's heavy, solid, and I love having the extra screw holes for securing larger or oddly shaped pieces. The T-handled Allen wrench was a nice bonus, as it's more comfortable, easier to keep track of, and tightens more securely than the cheap and simple one I had been using. It's nice that it shipped with screws to secure the workpiece, though I don't know how successfully I'll keep track of them.This is a great option if it fits on your lathe.

My HF lathe has the 1" 8tpi thread and this is the correct size for that. It is much more stout than the included faceplate that was included with the machine. I had picked up a 6" previously, and 2 1/2" just recently. So this fits right in the middle of those two. Night and day difference between this and the factory supplied faceplate.
