Your cart is empty.Blast gates are used to open and close branch ducts to divert airflow only to those machines in operation. This conserves air volume and keeps suction strongest where dust is being produced, thus maximizing dust extraction. Outer case made from cast aluminum with sliding steel gate and locking knob. Typical gate allow debris to accumulate in the groove preventing the gate from closing fully, causing leaking and reducing suction. The slot on these units extends through the back of the base to allow debris to be pushed out of the groove and prevent buildup.

I am using these with a 20" planner and a down-draft table. They are good quality and work well.

this seems very solid metal, a well built item but I found a design flaw- the opposite side of the body of the gate from the slider is open- so when gate is open & in use, there's a vacuum loss that will decrease suction in the desired direction, I fixed it with a bit of tape but the other 5" gate I have from another company ( that actually seems lighter weight) is closed opposite the slider so no suction loss.

The quality seems to be great but the OD is 4-3/4"Thank god I have a 3D printer so that I can print off spacers that will allow a tight fit to the store bought 5" ducting.5 stars if the OD and ID measurement were clearly stated in the description.

I have the 5". Used in dust collection for a woodshop. Seals up well. Just make sure you put the twist knob on the tool side of the line....that knob and the dimple on the actual gate is what gives you a good seal.

I bought two in May but just installed them. The gates don’t seal. I’ve turned them both directions they leak the “gate†is to loose to seal. There is good money done the drain. With that much leakage no doubt they are “self cleaningâ€.I replaced the metal gates with HDPE Sheet High Density Polyethylene - Plastic Sheet 1/8" Thick I used the original gate for a template and added longer screws to hold the assembly together. The screws have to be loosened to move the gate now but it does seal 100% both directions.

Works great, fits inside hose. seals good, more compact than some other self cleaning ones
