This works perfectly for making lunch meat or even to sous vide meat (keeping it together in the bag). I have been using string which is perfectly fine but I like the ease of this one.

Finally got to use today on two pork back loins that have been EQ cured for 14 days. The meat was firm so I’m not sure if it helped or worked against me. They were tight to get on. However the point of using them is to hold the meat firm so it does what it supposed to.

I have a few recipes which call for tying up the meat after you have manipulated it in some fashion, like removing the bone, or making a stuffed roll. I know how to do the proper tie-up for meats, but it is time-consuming and doesn't always look so great. With the stretchy meat sock, it's super easy! This has a nice stretch to it so it will work for a wide variety of sizes of finished product. It's really easy to slip on, kind of like putting on your socks. And then it holds things in place where you want them while it cooks. Also super easy to remove, again, just sliding right off. No need to cut and worry about stray pieces of string. It's kind of an odd thing to have, but it's pretty inexpensive and the amount you get will last a long time since you usually don't need very much. I feel like it might have some other uses, but have not thought of anything directly yet. Get creative!
