I'm using this to set up Jointer infeed and outfeed tables referencing off the cutterhead knives. The measurement is not critical, but repeating the measurement is. The bar is flat and heavy so it remains stable across the table widths. I'm not speaking to the measurement accuracy, only the repeatability. For my use, this is a five star item.

The gauge provided incorrect readings, making it useless for my needs. The build quality is also subpar.

Overall, this is a good device. It can give you up to about an inch of height difference from a flat surface to another surface. It is of mediocre quality, judging from the fact that the two little black markers that come on the side of the dial gauge absolutely refuse to stay on it. You will lose these and they will be gone, and they are pretty worthless because they won’t stay on the gauge. Other than that, the item seems to work well. You can use it too check sleeve height on an engine block, but you can use it for a lot more as well.
