The ends are coated to protect them but it's too thick and you have to remove the coating for them to fit. Aside from that they work great.

Inexpensive, variable sizes, and magnetic attachment are all bonuses to have on these extenders. The only minus is that on occasion under certain circumstances pressure away from the work surface can result in the magnetic attachment releasing and falling out of place. If you need something that has a stronger bond the attachment site, a slip lock version of these things would be a better option, but you must keep those properly oiled and dry when not in use.

Maybe I did read the description carefully enough but you get two these in each length. I suppose if I one, having a spare is good. I bought these because the previous extension disappeared during my last move.

Magnets are not as strong as needed. First use magnet pulled out when I went to change bits. Super glued then all in. Other than the issues with magnets they look OK.
