This purchase was probably not my best decision, but due to no fault of the equipment. It is well made, runs great, has a good selection of augers, and plenty of extensions. I found it very easy to assemble and it started up, ran like a champ, and was easy to operate. So, you ask, what's the problem? Well, the only issue is where I live is exactly where the retreating glaciers decided to drop large rocks a few thousand years ago. Every time I try to use this thing, I hit rocks within a few inches. I don't care how good a post hole digger is, it cannot compete with rocks the size of watermelons, and that's the small ones. Unfortunately, my whole property is this way. My only recourse at this point is to try to sell it at a small loss. Somebody will get a bargain on a very good machine, and I will continue to use my backhoe.

Needed to replace a fence after recent. Hurricane didn't feel like doing it with post. All diggers, so for the price I took a chance. it was well worth it. Carburetor cover was broken and it's a little hard starting, but once it gets going man, this thing has got some torque. And runs well Nearly ripped my arm off at one point highly recommend.

I have owned this digger for about a month now and have used it for 50+ holes so far. The soil where I live is very heavy clay beneath the topsoil, and this auger has been able to handle it without any issues. It is easy to start and has a lot of power. The three auger sizes that were included fit my variety of needs well and seem to be sturdy and solid.Things I've learned so far:Sharpen the tips of the auger bits with a file. If you try to start pushing through any amount of grass or anything besides bare soil, it will collect that debris on the cutting edges and not dig down into the soil. You can stop and clear the edges very quickly, but if you sharpen the edges it will cut straight through. The engine choke is a tab that you pull out and have to manually push back in after it starts. If you forget, it will run but have no power behind it and not dig at all.Clear the bit regularly, especially if the soil is wet.I haven't run with more than 1 extension rod attached, but it worked fine. The bolts that attach the extensions seem a little small to me, but could be easily replaced if sheered off or lost.If you hit a rock or root of any size, it will not go through it.Go slow and let the weight of the machine push itself down. If you're going full throttle it is very easy for it to pull itself out of your grip.Tighten every screw and bolt that you can see and check them regularly as you break it in, one is always coming loose on mine. For the price and performance so far, this is doing everything I hoped it would.

The reason for the 4 star is that the air cleaner filter cover arrived broken and failed to stay on. I had to purchase a longer screw and a washer to repair it. It seems to be holding together for now. Although warned in other reviews and be the seller to check the bolts holding things together, everything seemed to be ok. I checked both before and after use. The starter cord was a little difficult to pull at first but when it worked the thing started right up. Let it warm up a little before using it. Relatively easy to operate. I was worried but it does not turn until you rev it and then is easy to control the speed. I hit a rock in a hole but I simply let go of the handle and throttle and it spun a little and then stopped. No problem but I had to go around the rock. Overall it worked good and so much quicker and easier than digging by hand. Other than the air filter cover it seems to be decent quality and it arrived with three size augers as well as three extensions that I needed.

This product if very faulty. It may be good for digging holes on the beach while making sand castles with your kids, but to make fence holes is just a waste of money. I'm sad to be outside of the return policy because i tried to give this item several opportunities but now I cannot get a refund so there goes $250 out the door. I live in Nevada and the land here is more dense. This is a bad item to make holes if you live in hard land. It has no power.

We have a farm so you can imagine the amount of fence post holes we have to dig. Still running strong. Easy to use for an auger. Attachments are heavy (as they should be for durability). Cranks easily and is very functional for our needs. Glad I did extensive research and decided on this one. Saved a ton of money!

It does the job everything is fairly cheap feeling but that’s what you expect. Has decent power I’ve done one fence so far no problems although it was in a soft sand dirt mix I don’t see it having issues. Good product.

I used this auger to help my father-in-law dig fencepost holes. Using traditional post-hole diggers, the team averaged 4 per hour. We did 38 in 2 hours - of course, we took breaks, etc. This tool made an extremely tiring project quick and easier. I would recommend this auger. Excellent for the money.
