I had a Honda crankshaft bolt that was known to be cross-threaded. I used every socket and high-torque impact wrench I had without success. After using the this socket, the bolt broke about half way down with only that half coming out. I knew the crank was needing replacement because of the thread issue, but the pulley needed to be removed first because of the oil pump, so for me this was a good outcome. It takes a lot of torque to snap a bolt; because of the added torque that this socket creates, I suggest using only with a low or medium power impact gun (which is what 90+ % of the mechanics have) for normal bolt removal.

I watched videos of people fighting to loosen the harmonic balancer pulley bolt on Honda's. So many improvised methods that they still struggled with. Then I saw a video of someone using this item. Painless, easy, and quick! Like a red hot knife through butter! Why not try it?So I ordered one and put it to work the same day it arrived. I used a cheap Harbor Freight electric impact gun and before I could finish counting to 3, that bolt was off!Buy this! You won't regret it!

Had a cam bolt that wouldn't break loose to save my life. Had it off in 5 secs with this socket. These weighted sockets are a life saver. Also used these sockets on balancer bolts. Definitely worth it

I bought this to remove the crankshaft bolt on my '98 Civic. The outer diameter is not only too big to fit into the recess on the balancer, it is also so large that it will not fit straight on the bolt account making contact with the car frame. I have now purchased the stepped version in hopes that it will fit. I ought to have spent the extra dollars for the Lisle socket straightaway.

The weight was enough to break the bolt loose without using the Honda/Acura crankshaft tool.

It's too thick to fit into the crank pulley recess of my 98 civic. Would need to be machined down a good 5mm half way up the shank to make fit. Look for a different socket with a thinner front half and heavy rear if you have a D or B series Honda engine .
