There is everything to like about these perches. All the perches were in tact with the hardware to attach them sturdily to the cage. The thickness of the perches vary making them healthy for a budgie’s feet. They wipe off easily. I notice the bird enjoys chewing on them and rubbing his head for a scratch. The perches are not too long which makes it easy for him to move around. They are designed well. It is ‘s hard to tell the difference between them and the branch from our maple tree. It is a happy purchase! Jan

Research will show uniformly shaped perches like the common ones made of plastic, are not good for the feet of birds. Uniformly shaped perches can ultimately lead to health complications for parrots and other birds. These wooden perches come in a variety of styles and latch on very well the most cages. A washer and fastener are both provided to allow easy installation to your bird's cage. A few of the wood pieces may be slightly smaller than the space between the cage bars but small adjustments to the angle of placement will take care of that. The base of the wood on the smaller perches (where the screw is) should be larger to better fit the cage.

I understood from the reviews that these were on the smaller side, but I wasn't expecting them to be as small/skinny as they are. I have a cockatiel and yes these are ok for her, but I don't think the flat perches will be big enough for her to sit comfortably. These are better for the tiny species like budgie's, lovebirds, and partotlets. I just know my cockatiel will use these more for getting around her enclosure, but more than likely will never choose one of these as her sleeping perch or hang out perch when in her enclosure. They are just a bit too skinny for her liking(the ones I received are skinnier than a pen!) but for now these will be great for variation for her feet!

i bought these for my pet rats and they love them! they chew on them and love to climb them to get around the cage! i bought multiple packs to put around the cage and they’re good quality too, real wood!
