Ojtrtdr 8inch Valve Spring Compressor, Valve Spring Compressor Tools, Valve Compressor Tool, Multi-Function Spring Pulling and Dismantling Tool, Suitable for Most CarsOjtrtdr 8inch Valve Spring Compressor, Valve Spring Compressor Tools, Valve Compressor Tool, Multi-Function Spring Pulling and Dismantling Tool, Suitable for Most CarsMy husband and I are rebuilding a Subaru boxer engine. Deferred maintenance led to a broken timing belt, and these engines are “interference†type, meaning the valves are now bent. It will be quite a big project for us but we have done similar work before. We have a small valve spring compressor but it just latches on to the top of the spring and removes the retaining clips. It is very difficult to re-install the valves and clips with that other tool. This one is so much easier, and makes the job simple and fast. It has an adjustable spring seat which acts a little bit like tongs that can move in or out. There are 2 different forks for differing situations. The plastic handle is fairly comfortable to use and there seems to be enough leverage that it operates easily. This tool should work for just about any cylinder head, so it will be a valuable tool in our shop for the future. It seems pretty well made and sturdy, and works as well as can be expected. I think it is great and the price was under $19, which is really great.

Fit and finish is excellent and works like a typical c clamp spring compressor. Easy to install in the head especially classic car overhead cam 2 valve cylinder heads and the extension to spin and loosen valve via the clamp is a little short and can make hands tired after while so I use a 6†extension and it spins effortlessly even with heavy solid tappet and hydraulic roller springsVery happy with this item and great value for sure

This is an "old school" style valve spring compressor used to compress valve springs so as to get at the keepers to do service work on valves (replace, remove, lapping, grinding, guides, seats, et cetra). The spring compressor comes with two different sets of jaws and the width of the jaws can be adjusted with a thumb screw to size correctly onto different-sized valve spring retainers.

It seems just as good as the other ones I’ve used. It has held up to Harley valves and springs so I am happy with it. about the only complaint I can say that I have is how thin the clamping handle is. It’s not that its weak it use puts a lot of pressure on your palm but its not horrible. I wish they would have rolled the handle so that i was a u shape to widen the grip area. Again it isn’t going to hurt that bad.Another thing I would have liked is a bag or box with it because you have the extra fork set and no way to keep it together so if you don’t have a need to swap out fork to often then they will probably find out where the 10mm sockets go

A nice spring compressor! This is a well made spring compressor that is built like the older Lisle tool. A good design that just works right. It is easy to setup and use with 2 shoes for different spring setups. Once you set the toll up for th efirst valve, use the threaded rod to get the valve cup tight enough to the valve but where you can just slide it over the spring and valve stem. Once you are over the top just use the vice grip style handle to compress the spring and remove the keepers, then slowly release the handle to release the stored energy in the spring. A very easy way to do valve work!

I have a little one of these designed for lawn mowers that I've been using for about 45 years. It is by far my favorite valve spring compressor even when I'm working on a tractor and my little compressor is actually too small. My little one is old and very wore out but it still works and it will fit small tractors like a 8n or a to-30 but the diesels are a bit too much for it.This one is going to be so much better. It's big enough to fit most heads and it is built tough enough to even handle the valves with double springs on them.I love that it has 2 different forks. And one faces downward which will come in handy when trying to get to a valve and something is in the way. This is a really nice compressor.Great item!

This took a minute to figure out, but the concept is right. I'm used to shoving the spring down with one hand and shoving something in there to hold it. This makes it much easier to be able to clamp and go all in one swoop. I was able to get to several parts that I was not able to prior to having these spring compressor clamps. They are now a staple in my section of car repair tools. Love them!

It comes with 2 heads to accommodate different sized springs. I'm using it with inserters to compress very difficult springs for installation. It's much easier than my previous method of shoving the spring down with 1 hand and trying to attach the nut with the other. It's made out of sheet metal bent to form the tool. It's not a beautiful thing, but it gets the job done.Overall a great tool.Highly recommended.
