Off the several tools researched, chose this design and overall am well pleased. Though a bit tricky to get on/off, depending on shape and size of head assembly, got the hang of it and the tool worked very good to do a full-valve job on my 23HP V-Twin Kawasaki lawnmower engine, (which after completing did not solve the blue smoke issue, which turned out to be a 'faulty fuel shut-off valve'). Good heavy duty material and packaging. Recommend.

Was able to disassemble and reassemble the heads off an old Chevy with this product and it worked well. It was a little small to fit over the larger valves, but it still actually did the job. It would be excellent for a smaller engine.

Bought it for working on 4v heads. Works perfectly and comes in a nice case for storage. Definitely recommend for engines with smaller valves

This tool is much easier to use compared to the ones that require pressing down or hammering. I was sweating while using press down tool, so I decided to give this one a try. It turned out to be the best bang for the buck, and I didn’t have to break a sweat. Highly recommended if you’re working on valve springs outside the car.

Came with all the parts it shows. Built cheap, just as suspected. Both ends of the c clamp are supposed to be threaded to accept the threaded cup adapters. Mine wasnt at all. They just built the C clamp and didnt thread the ends. Luckily, as a mechanic, I have the tools to thread this. Once I did that, it worked well enough to get done what I wanted to. I would never purchase this for more than a one job deal. It will fail on you over time. Its a great, cheap, tool for the DIY person trying to get one job done.

I like to show photos because it shows a real person using it and doesn’t come off like a bot wrote it.Anyways the product is sturdy but isn’t high quality; wasn’t expecting it for the price though. My only gripe is the hole that the fastener slips into as it was too small and had to be drilled out for the handle to slip in. Other then that the product worked really well. I used it on a German Mini N14 engine. Fun fact, the Princess Auto and Harbour Freight style Valve compressor tools won’t work on a heads like mine as the valves are recessed in the Head. A lot of sizes to choose from, and unless you got a super unique valve spring size this kit should work.Overall if your patient and take your time, this is a great beginner tool for your first head rebuild, and I believe is German Car friendly. It’s a recommend from me. Hope this helps.

Motorcycle valve gear inspection, measurement and maintenance on bike restorations. Requires a little bit of technique to align the adaptors on the valve head and the stop of spring. and you need to balance the C clamp during the whole process. Adaptors allow for easy collet removal with a magnet. Just take a bit of care the first few times.

Nearly bought the cheaper version of this with tubular frame but read reviews of frame twisting. This tool's frame is very rigid and it doesn't twist. I did find the technique very fiddly at first. The trick is to hold the frame and pull firmly up against the valve face when tightening on the spring. When undoing the threaded rod to capture the collets in the keeper, the 'cage' has to be stopped from rotating and dislodging the collets. I used an awl but a third hand almost needed. It would be nice if a pad were included to protect the valve face on the piston side of the head. Also nice if the bar to rotate the threaded rod did not drop out in both directions very easily. A reasonable if a bit frustrating tool for the job. Not good for doing a lot of work but for the occasional valve work is good and does work now I've figured out the tricks.
