I tried this with simple projects like paper tracing and drawing. A great way to work on these types of art where the whole box is covered but light comes through. I also tried it with thicker projects like canvas diamond painting, diamond painting on plastic, and a few other things. The canvas worked well at the higher levels of lighting. The plastic worked okay - the light came through light colors but not the darker colors so seeing those numbers required overhead light.What I love:- it's an ideal size to fit a variety of projects- several different levels of lighting- rechargeable- it's angled which makes it easy to view and use- comes with all sorts of accessories and fun items to play with- comes with a padded carry case that has a zippered pocket for all the accessories and whatever elseWhat I don't love as much:- I found the backlighting to be helpful in some situations and distracting in others, even tiring. When working on tracing or drawing, it's perfect. When working on crafts and other projects, the light was distracting. I found that light from above worked better and didn't tire out my eyes as fast. The lighting is mostly a cool white which can affect things visually in a different way than warm white lighting and other tones.For me, this is a mixed bag. It's all about the type of project and how tired my eyes are when doing the project. There are a lot of great things about it including affordability and portability, so it's worth trying. But if you or the ones who might be using it are sensitive to backlighting, it will be challenging to use.

I bought this for when I'm doing my diamond art & wow what a difference. You can see so much better. I like that it has 5 different brightness settings & last for 5 hours after a full charge. I'm very happy with it!

I bought this to use for my Diamond Art. Most of my designs are 12*16 and this is the perfect size for that sized art. I do about an hour a day and after two uses the light has to be recharged. You would be better off keeping it plugged in all the time. Besides the light life my only other complaint are the magnets. They do not work at all which is a little disappointing. They need to be bigger and stronger perhaps to keep the art from moving around. It gets the job done but you have to make adjustments to get there.

I bought this for tracing embroidery designs on fabric. Love that there are multiple brightness settings. The padded carrying case is well made. I think it will work well for my needs.
