Easy to adjust, durable design, great quality:This product is well designed and clearly uses finely tuned and higher quality materials. The apertures close very smoothly and accurately, allowing you to find the ideal opening size quickly and without bouncing back and forth between too wide and too narrow. The product's materials are also pretty durable and the adjustment is quick and simple to make. The product also fits as intended as was simple to apply to the night vision set.Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend.

Having an adapter/iris is pretty much required if you plan on or have a night vision-capable unit, and I will explain why. Most importantly, the iris gives you the ability to 1) limit the amount of light coming in, with the iris closed equivalent to most daylight or pinhole covers. This means you can instantaneously limit light in case of potential damage without having to fumble for a cap. A major benefit of the iris cover instead of standard daylight is that it gives you the ability to focus both near and far, as the limited light + increasing the gain lets the PVS unit focus on nearby objects (evidenced by the last two images I included)2) The included sacrificial lens and adapter mounted without any issue, this does add additional length to the unit but the benefits outweigh the increased weight + size as you do not have to worry about the front lens becoming scratched as easily and it balances the overall weight of the unit a tiny amount.3) the front cap (which I forgot to include a photo of) is a standard lens cap but the fact that it is included along with a strap/lanyard means that you don't have to worry about sun damage at all as it is completely closes the lens, and it can even hang from the unit directly if desired.Overall, having an iris is mandatory in my opinion due to its benefits & features, and this package is the best way of getting all the required parts to fully utilize them all.5/5 Stars

It is very solidly constructed. The lanyard and lens cleaning cloth should not be deciding factors, but are a nice addition to a purely functional bit of kit.

This is basically the aperture iris from a lens, but exposed. I don't have night vision goggles to be able to test it in that way, but I have often looked into the lenses of my cameras and admired the iris as I change the apertures. So it is cool to have this piece. Including a great quality filter and a lens cap is a nice bonus. Depending on your use case, the UV filter is going to protect the blades, as they are very delicate. The adjustment ring has just the right thickness, rotates smoothly with even resistance throughout, and stays where you adjust it.

This iris aperture diaphragm works as you would expect - there isn't a lot you can say about one of these after that. I like that this set included the protective cover - not essential but a nice to have. Getting two is a bonus because I'm sure I'll lose one along the way. This works as intended, so I am happy with the order.

This iris operates smoothly - doesn't quite close entirely, though (a small aperture remains when closed) - the included cover and glass lens are a nice touch. To be candid - I've been trying to produce a good iris on my SLA and FDM printers for a while - have not yet achieved results I'm happy with - the main reason I got this was to study, and for design ideas. It's perfect for that, obviously.
