I gave it 4 stars because it does what it says. i didnt give 5 because some of the pieces are real small. Now i did not like the taste at all ( i dont like the dark char, but thats personal preference). After buying a few other ones it turns out im a medium light kinda guy, but i didnt hold that against this product at all. From the pics it looks like they are small chunks of wood, however they are little bits and the small ones i mentioned earlier are like slivers after straining through a coffee filter i got them all out.

Got these. than read more.. darker add more color than flavor.. little bit flavor. More mellowing with glycerin. Next time try med. And get better answer. Takes while to stop float. Rince and drop in. Good brown color
