Introducing: AMPCOM 110 Punch Down Tool
A Multifunction 110 Type Impact Punch Down Tool
Comes with a double ended 110 blade (cutting side and non cutting side)
Has a HI and LO setting depending upon the wire gauge (thickness) that is being punched down
Use LO for 24AWG (typically Cat5e) conductor wires
Use HI for 23AWG (typically Cat6 or Cat6A) conductor wires
Has a hollow base and storage area for the 110 blade when not in use
Provides two swing out tools:
Spudger/Cable hook for general use
Hook for easily and safely removing improperly punched conductors
Double ended 110 tool head
1. Flush cut blade - For punching down and cutting
2. U type end - For re-punching dow
The design is standard “twist and lock” and is compatible with any “twist and lock” tool head for sale on the open market.

An internal spring uses kinetic force to shove the conductor down between the metal prong contacts to make an electrical connection, and the blade will flush cut the conductor at the end of the punching.

I was trying to get by using the cheap and I mean cheapo Ideal plastic push tool when I was installing network Keystones. Ugh what a pain it is without a proper tool. Thankfully this Ampcom arrived and gave me the motivation to finish the job in my garage. There is something to be said about using the right tool for the job. The impact force is plenty enough to avoid troubleshooting.

It does punch wire down, but doesn't cut the ends as it should.

This punch down tool works well and is a good value given its cost. The tool is sturdy and appears like it will last a long time.The packaging is almost entirely in Chinese, but if you've used a punch down tool before that won't be an impediment.

Overall this tool is a copy of the old Harris design. Plain and simple but should be reliable. The one thing they got wrong is the blade orientation. Anyone who is in the trade is used to the cutting side being colored yellow or maybe red. This tool puts the cutting edge in a 90 deg position so you have to be extremely careful of how you hold the tool in your hand. And for some reason they imprinted the word "CUT" on both the black and red side! Looks like they screwed up what should have been an easy copy. But yes it does work. Just pay extra attention and put an identifying mark , paint, nail polish ect on the actual cutting side.

He tenido oportunidad de trabajar con bastantes rematadoras y ésta quedarÃa en un rango medio. Por ratos se traba el resorte interno y se debe lubricar un poco para que funcione nuevamente. Si bien cumple su cometido es bastante frustrante que falle cuando tienes trabajo por hacer. Si el uso será ocasional es buena opción, sino será para usar diario recomendarÃa una mejor.
