How does the filter work?

STAGE 1 – COARSE SPONGE

Filter out large size impurities, such as food residue, fish excrement and plant leaves.

Remove odor, chlorine and fine particles.

  • 1. Make sure to block the side water outlet in order to enable the aeration function.

    2. If filter is placed too deep, it may not aerate. Simply raise the filter to resolve this issue.

    3. Filter sponge may be clogged. Clean it to restore aeration.

  • No, when the filter is working, it must be fully submerged in the water.

  • The coarse sponge (blue sponge) should be placed at the bottom of the filter box, followed by the activated carbon sponge (black sponge) in the middle, and the fine sponge (yellow sponge) at the top.

Several months of use and it's still running strong! It's very easy to clean and works mounted horizontally. I use it in my turtle tank. The water is only about 6 inches in a 20gal (baby turtle) but it's soooooooo much quiter than the common green filters that make a splashing waterfall and get noise the second the water level begins to drop.Also pro tip connect a hose to the outlet for water changes. Being that my tank is sitting on the floor water changes were a pain.(cant use a regular siphon) The filter will pump most of the water out for you.

Great filter for my 20 gallon tank I can have it at an angle it doesn’t matter it keeps my tank nice and clear and hasn’t had any problems so far very reliable and easy. I highly recommend

I have been using Penn-Plax Cascade internal filters for many years; however, I decided to try something new at a better price. This filter is replacing a Cascade 300(internal). It has been going strong for almost 7 years and it still works. I may have made a mistake, but I'm going to make it work for now. The filter works great, but it's too powerful. It was described as a 10-40 gallon filter for fish or turtle aquariums, but I wouldn't put it in anything less than 55 gallons. I will agree that it is perfect for turtle tanks. I have small fish(live bearers) so, my main concern is sucking the fish in. The filter has no way of controlling the flow of water. I had to modify it by placing a sponge on the end of the output pipe. I will update the review after a few months of using it.

This filter so far is very nice and powerful! It’s adding a nice water flow throughout my 20 and 40 gallon tanks. Seems to be doing a good job. I am happy with my purchase especially with the price!

I loved the filter and it did some of the best cleaning and kept the water super clear and odorless. The only downside is it seems very easy to break. My turtle is not an "easy keeper" and likes the mess with the stuff in her tank. I've bought this filter twice because of how well it cleans but it doesn't hold up like the rest of the equipment in her tank. Added a picture of the culprit.

UPS delivery. First time order, received quickly. 2nd time order, this product works well, solved the killer caused problem, they did me in another way, did my tire, tried to do my laundry.And this 2nd order delayed? Yesterday I checked, deliver till 10pm, today checked, even not out of facility.After figuring out can not kill anymore, doing not delivery !!!!!!Update: after they done bugs/bactria/virus/my laundry, it’s quiet, no much car in parking lot, then my package was delivered.No sure what happened, but I survived.

Though the item is quite costly but the product is working extremely good. Filtering is awsome with monimum noise. The water gets cleaned up in a very short time. The speciality of the product is the dual side water flow. Thanks for such an excellent product.
