This adapter makes you attach your video camera with a 'C' or 'CS' thread to your telescope for prime focus photography. C-threads are commonly used in most consumer video cameras whereas the CS thread is mostly used in security cameras. The camera must have a standard removable C-mount lens, which is a 1" diameter thread. It will not work on video cameras with fixed lenses or bayonet mount.

This item did wonderful job for someone like myself who has no understanding of astronomy. was able to hook up a Gopro to a telescope and take a few photos.

The Astromania C mount to 1.25†adapter is well machined and should work with any C mount camera.The threads are smooth and even with no nicks or burrs. It screws on and off very easily.It is a perfect match for a Celestron NexImage 5 video camera. The NexImage 5 came with an adapter, and this is just as good as the one it came with.It did not fit my ZWO ASI 224 MC camera. It also was not a match for my GoPro Hero 13 Black.

This adapter has decent threads, but the inside is so reflective it interferes with my imaging sensor. I was hoping to use this on my Unistellar eVscope, but the glare I'm experiencing is terrible. I'm going to research a bit on the internet for a solution because returning this is more of a hastle for me than what I paid for it.I don't want to put the manufacturer down as they make a number of adequate items for astronomy. In this case however, someone forgot to check for glare. A simple non-reflective black carboard sleve may do the job. We'll see.

Tried on my telescope with the common 1.25" barrel opening. Fits perfectly. Now its just finding a ring adapter set to go from the existing "C" threads to one that matches my cameras and I'm golden for some astrophotography.Well made and sturdy - if you need the adapter, this should work well for ya.

I've always liked Astromania items because in my experience they make good parts at reasonable prices. This adapter didn't disappoint. I'm using this to mount a small C-mount camera to the finder scope on my telescope.It fit the camera perfectly and mounted to the scope as well. The internal threads fit 1-1/4 filters well. There really isn't much else to say. I'm very happy with it and the price was very reasonable.

This is a great adapter for anyone who wants to dabble with astrophotography using a standard optical telescope. Quality and fit are good. Use this adapter instead of your eyepiece lens, attach any C-mount camera, and you’re taking pictures. Of course, with the camera mounted, it’s hard to know what you’re pointing at unless you have some external viewfinder screen (with adequate sensitivity for low light photography). I particularly plan to use this in an upcoming telescope build using a Raspberry Pi and gimbal system for astrophotography. I can attach any C-mount raspberry pi camera directly to this adapter, and I’m good to go. Great bit of kit. 5 stars!
