The New Astromania Dual Finder Mounting Bracket
- for everyone who wants to use two finder scopes
During interstellar observation, some astronomers prefer to use two finder scopes. However, attachment points for two such devices are not generally provided with telescopes. This means that amateur astronomers must hence resort to drilling into the OTA to attach the additional finders.
Astromania now provides this finder shoe that allows easy installation without drilling. So if you would like to use two finders, then this product is an absolute 'must-have'.

Wide Range of Applications
A finder scope shoe is all you need - mounting is easy, just slide the Dual Mounting Bracket into the existing finder scope shoe. You now have 2 Vixen/Synta slots at your disposal. You can attach a finder scope, your LED finder and perhaps a laser pointer. You will ever need to grope around in the dark again, but easily be able to locate any faint object.
A Holder for a Mini Guide Scope
They look like finder scopes, but there are actually guide scopes. Astrophotographers like to use them with an auto-guider. But the best thing is that they are easy to install and fit into the Dual Finder Mounting Bracket, so astrophotography is perhaps not child's play, but becomes a lot easier.

This finderscope bracket is perfect for mounting multiple finderscope accessories using a Vixen Dovetail mount. In my case I'm using a Celestron Nexstar 8se SCT which doesn't come with a Vixen mount for the finderscope. So I first had to purchase a finderscope base that would fit on the 8se. I tried a few but the one that fit perfectly was another AstroMania finder base for SCT's. (AstroMania actually makes 2 different finder bases so be sure to check the screw spacing before buying if you have an 8se).Anyways regarding this finder scope bracket, it's pretty much everything that you want. The bracket seems pretty solidly made. Each bracket comes with 2 screws for tightening down your accessories. What makes this bracket stand out when compared to other finder scope brackets is the sizing of the brackets. They are a few millimeters wider than other finderscope brackets I found on Amazon. In face the 2 sice brackets are slightly wider than the center bracket. Why is this important? Well, I bought another finder scope bracket from a different vendor because it was slightly cheaper. That product didn't work with my StarSense AutoAlign product - the bracket for the AutoAlign is on the large side as far as brackets are concerned and it would only fit half-way into the bracket of the other cheaper product. Fortunately, there were so such issues with this bracket from AstroMania. All 3 of the brackets were able to fit the AutoAlign perfectly. Now I'm able to use my StarSense AutoAlign with my green laser pointer.

Nicely made AL accessory mount. The only downside is that, it's a bit heavy. This may come into play on smaller/lighter scopes.

Did just what I wanted it to - mounted a camera on one side and my red dot finder on the other while still able to use the eyepiece. Perfect. It's sturdy and after some adjusting with the red dot, they all line up.

This item seemed larger when viewed online but it's actually smaller than I thought in person. It's rather difficult to adjust the screws on the middle item when one is on the side with the screws for the middle. There is no 'toe' on it so it will slide through the dovetail on your OTA - be careful as I had to mess around with it in the dark a few times to get used to it. Be aware that adding this item and having even 1 additional scope may throw the balance of your OTA off - I had to get some weights to compensate.Overall, it was cheaper than the Orion branded dual mount and accomplishes the same thing. The issues I listed above aren't anything major, but something to be aware of.It's not something that's overly excellent since it does what you would think.

Its a bracket so it meets my common sense expectations fully. Using my red dot finder and finderscope on it with no issues.
