I’ve bought a couple of these lines to try on a spey rod I bought. I wasn’t sure what weight line to buy so It’s nice the price is right so I can but a couple of different lines to try. Someday after I learn the “snap t” and the “Perry Poke” l may invest in RIO or Airflo skagit lines, but until I get to the point where I get proficient with these lines, I’ll wait.

Unlike the photo and description, this also came with running line attached. I went ahead and loaded it onto a reel and flipped it around the back yard for a while. Seems like it should load nicely on the water, will find out soon.

I have to say this Skagit head is very nice. I have caught Snook and Jack's off the beach throwing big flies ! This product is as good as The Rio Skagit head. I am an inshore guide and bulldog my gear ! I use the floating Orange running line with this Skagit head and what a fine combination. I use a Sage 15' two handed rod in a 10 wt line. I have several client's starting to buy Aventik fly lines after they use mine.

I haven't used this line yet (just got it) and It looks like it'll work; the weight is pretty much as claimed for the 500 gr and it is cheap when compared to other fly lines, BUT.I find it very odd that aside from a 1 inch sticker on the box and bag inside (anyone can print a sticker), there is not a single word on the packaging that tells me anything about the product or manufacturer, no product data sheet inside either - nothing at all. It is as depicted in the photo, a pretty box with a generic statement on fly fishing line and please recycle the package.I've never heard of or seen any company to not get their name out there, include instructions, guides for use, info on other products, contact info, etc.I kind of thought there were requirements to include certain info on product packaging. The lack of product data "can be" a sign of bootleg manufacturing - not saying it is but it could be.A quick internet search for Aventik, only returns some vendors such as this one, an all China product selling site and some video site(s); no company website came up right away.

I hate to take any business away from the guys at OPST, but this really is a first-rate, high quality Skagit head. I can't believe Aventik can sell it this cheap.

This Skagit head performed just as well if not better than a premium head. Fished The 350gr on a 10’ 8wt for salmon.

The line was easily set up because of it being pre-looped. It cast well in tight situation where other fly lines would be hard to cast.
