I bought a fresh bagel and this slicer just smashed it down. I think the blade isn’t sharp enough. You’re better off with a knife.

The unit is much larger and more robust than I had hoped. This is a tool that is built to perform. I was delighted with the quality and ease of operation. I prefer to buy my bagels directly from bagel shop unsplit so they remain fresh longer. I split just before I toast them and they are perfectly soft and toasted, ready for the cream cheese and other fillings I enjoy.I highly recommend this product. Five stars for sure.

This works great but if you have a very soft bengal it may either crush your bagel or get stuck on the blades… works well for use and very glad to have it…

This slicer is NOT for fresh bagels. Which in most cases are the kind of bagels we eat. I gave it 2 stars only because it did in fact slice the bagel but only after squashing it. It might be ok for stale bagels but I’ll never know because I throw them out after a couple days. Much like what I’m doing with this piece of trash slicer.
