Q1: Most dogs will resist the collar when it’s first put on. Reactions can range from rubbing their nose on the ground to using their paws to push the strap off. Some dogs simply lie down and refuse to move.

The best thing to do is create a positive association with the head halter. To help build a good association with the halter, try using treats to train the dog to assist you with putting it on. The dog will realize that positive thing happen when the collar is on and become more comfortable with it. Keep the dog’s head up while walking and use verbal praise and treats for good walking behavior.

Q2: Can I use another leash longer?

A2:We would not recommend using a longer leash with this head collar. A 4-foot leash is the recommended length, as this is best for training your dog using this training tool. If you would strongly prefer to use another leash, It should be no longer than 6 feet, and a standard leash. This head collar should not be used with leashes longer than 6 feet, bungee leashes, or retractable leashes.

Q3: Would this be good for a bulldog?

A: This head collar is not suitable for short-snout dogs, such as bulldogs and Chihuahuas.
