I ordered this based on a review that they used it in a Dometic DMC4101. It is NOT the right one for that refrigerator. It spins the wrong direction. Luckily I caught this on other reviews and researched and ordered different one as well. This one worked and it shipped quickly, unfortunately I had to return this one.

Refrigerator was at 50 degrees when it was set to 37 degrees. Freezer was working fine. Sears repair person came out and diagnosed the problem to be a faulty refrigerator evaporator fan motor. He ordered a replacement OEM fan, but it was back-ordered with no ETA. Looked around the internet for a solution and came across a link to this product on Amazon. Searched the comments and found another user encountered the same problem and found that this fan motor fit in place of the OEM fan with a minor change to the wiring. According to this person, this fan was wired as Red Black Purple while the OEM fan motor was wired as Red Yellow Black. I found the fan motor that arrived was wired as Purple Red Black. I swapped the connector from the OEM fan motor to the new fan motor and connected the wires Red-Red Yellow-Purple Black-Black. After installation I confirmed the fan spins normally by plugging in the power to the refrigerator. Reinstalled everything and will monitor the temps. It seems to be working.

Bought this for a Dometic DMC4101 12v fridge. IT spins clockwise which is the right direction. All you need to do is cut the old wires and wire them to this fan motor. its 3 wires and its color for color so super easy and does work. also dont forget to swap the fan shafts which is also super easy. overall worked great.

Fixed my refrigerator and was an easy installation. Still working after a few months with no problems.Update: as of 4/27/21 it dies. That didn't last long.Bought another one and it died in a few days. Ended up getting one locally and sending this one back.

Bought this fan based on the first comment that was very much incorrect. This fan turns the wrong direction to replace Dometic DMC4101 freezer fan. DO NOT buy for this purpose. Otherwise fan works as advertised. Do not place value by reading one absolutely incorrect review.

My "Insignia" (Medea) NS-RTM18SS7 fridge stopped working. Of course, I had to buy a replacement fridge while fixing this one (troubleshooting and waiting for parts is weeks). Eventually discovered that the fan in the freezer compartment was not working. It's a 12 volt DC 4 watt fan (red = +, black = -), with a 'tach' signal on the 3rd purple wire. The tach signal is about 100Hz TTL (5v) square wave and informs the fridge control board that the fan is actually working. When that fan fails (they have a short lifespan), then the tach signal stops, and the controller knows, so it flashed all the white LEDs at me. My original fan was PN ZWF-02-4 502404010024, and I did have to cut-and-splice the 3 wires as the connector was different. Got it installed, and the fridge is now working. As the evaporator fan is in the freezer compartment, it's actually really easy to reach. Fan is attached to the motor shaft with a press fit and clamped with a spring. Really easy to install. Any advice provided here is for experienced DIY folks only. There are more-identical fans available (plug and play), but this one was delivered in just a few days. And I don't mind to solder wires and use heat shrink. Good luck.

I read the reviews before I bought this fan and thank goodness. I installed this fan 3 weeks ago. It is a straightforward enough job and can be done in about 30min depending on your fridge. When comparing this fan to the OEM, it feels much lighter and the plastic housing is of inferior quality. Unfortunately, the fan is already failing: it creates a grinding/rough sound when it is on. I am still in the 30 days to return it. There were enough issues with the poor quality that I bought a second fan just in case because I did not want to be stuck without a fridge again. I bought a similar fan from Amazon 3 years ago and it failed as well. 3 years is a more acceptable time frame for the failure.
